I think it woul be cool if you could combie items and get a new item. If you don't know what I mean play doodle god and imagine elements as items

You could probably do that with scripting.

Then again, that would require effort.

You can.

Make item effect one take you to page 10 (or whatever). Make item effect two when used on page 10 take you to another page that drops both of the previous items and gives you a new one.
