Introduce yourself and get to know the community.

Tikki's introduction

Hi,

so, it's time to introduce myself now.

I registered here just a few minutes ago, after reading through some articles explaining the site and its features. Even though I don't want to start writing my own stories right away, I think it's a good idea to be able to post on the forums, maybe get to know the community, and generally participate a bit, even if my own writing is some time away from now.

I played interactive stories before, especially the Lone Wolf books, which I absolutely love. I just like to read good stories, but I even more like it to be able to take part in what I'm reading. So I think this site should be a great place for me to get some reading done. :D

So, I'll definitely start with some of the top-rated stories, see how I like them and go from there. And maybe I'll start my own story someday. After reading some of the articles here, I'm pretty sure there would be more than enough help here to get me started.

Greetings from

Tikki

Hi Tikki!

I think you're taking the road less traveled in reading stories before writing them, and I'm so happy that you are. Every single user, new and veteran, can benefit from reading Ground Zero by Endmaster. That story perfectly encapsulates how to write a CYOA. You should take note of how exemplary the branching is and how well it's written.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Hello and welcome! I wold definitely take 3J's offer on questions if you have any, he is extremely involved and helpful. Also, as I'm sure you noticed, Endmaster and BerkaZerka are considered some of the best story game creators, Endmaster known for his dark and well write stories and BZ for advanced editor mastertry, they are also both helpful and involved (Endmaster might preform horrible experiments on you though =P )

I look forward to seeing what you can produce!

Welcome to the site Tikki, hope you benefit and enjoy from your time here.

As others noted, Endmaster is definitely one of the most famous writers on the site, but really all the featured stories are good, just matter what you're into ^_^

Regarding JJJ's greetings...

Let's say a plenty good amount of quality writers came up when they planned what they were doing ahead of time.  You're on the right track ;)

And if you need help, don't hesitate to ask in the Writing Workshop.

Good idea and direction

Welcome to the website Tikki!  I'm a newcomer myself, but I've been in plenty of other online communities.  Thanks for going through the articles, getting a feel for the community and acceptable participation, and taking it slow.  Every community needs more people like you.

I'm also a fan of the LW series.  While there are some minor pitfalls, Joe Dever masterfully combined choice and combat with a continuing and internally consistent story.  He also made us feel like a bad*ss while we played.  Take that Drakkarim, for Sommerlend and the Kai!

Being a long-time (StarCraft) Lurker, I also read most of the top-rated stories before diving in.  I'm currently 25 pages into my own story, and also hope the community doesn't find my writing wanting.  If you ever want somebody to run ideas or drafts by, feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

Here's hoping we hear more from you.
