I've seen the post about creating your own name. That I can handle with. I'll need that feature for what I'm doing, which is translating a DS game into a storygame so people can play it online. What I need to know is how to rearrange the coding to have the same effect (ultimately remembering which option you chose at the beginning throughout the entire story) but instead for gender. I don't want to have to make a million pages that branch out for each gender! Is there any way to use a similar coding to get the desired effect with gender choice?

Link 1: Set %SEX to 1.

Link 2: Set %SEX to 2.

The codes for that is this:

%SEX := 1

%SEX := 2

Then you put this in place of where you say he, or she:

%%SEX=%1%He%%%%SEX=%2%She%% <----Put this on the actual page.

Thank you that's all I really needed. So I make two variables saying SEX1 and SEX2? Then I just put the code in? Put it in where? Because whenever I put in a code on the actual page, it shows it as text instead of code. Help with that? And thanks again!

No. You just make 1 variable call SEX. You set their value to either 1 or 2 depending on what links the players click. Like I said, you put the codes for the links on the link script. And you put the codes with the percentage signs on the actual page.

Is this a Fan Fiction, or plagiarism?

This is an online version of a video game I love. Full credit is given to the creators and I take no credit at all for the creation of the game, except for the actual translation of the game from DS to online. Thanks.

Dragon Quest 9. And I give full credit to whoever made it. Great job btw! Anyway, I did put in some of my own touches. It's not completely the actual thing.

Still, you seem to be directly copying the game. Nintendo are not exactly trustworthy when it comes to this sort of thing either.

I'll give full credit to them. Also, I'm not going to be doing EVERYTHING exactly from the game. so I guess I've got some justification there.

Whilst not everything may be copied, some of it presumably is.

Well DQ9 was released in 2009. So I don't think Nintendo will notice that much.

But it's still pretty assholeish to put it up without linking to Nintendo and putting it in Fan-fiction. Just because Nintendo probably won't notice doesn't make it right.

Would be pretty cool if you actually manage to translate the game to the site though.

Haven't posted on this in a while, but I have some news that might put you guys at ease. 

I made a deal with Nintendo by emailing them my proposition. 

They said that as long as I gave credit within the storygame to both Nintendo and Square Enix (the creators of the game) then they won't mind. I think they're not that worried about a kid doing anything to make a profit from it anyway...
