I believe that was a test area for testing a new layout for the site... that was never fully implemented...

I think that Alex is still working on it and that's why it's not the default site layout. Next update to the site might switch over to that layout.

Funnily enough, it works like a charm and you could use it to navigate the site and post and everything, but I'm more used to this layout than the new one (and I believe so is most of the site).

That last point is true.

Also, it's a bit wonky on the profile pages...needs a bit more work. Since the last time I saw it, alexp has made a lot of progress!

I don't know, but I just tried the second render and I like it better. I think I'll make this a permanent layout

I personally find the original better. A bit more nostalgic plus the fact that I'm so used to the light beige background.

I think it's time to switch the default look. Nostalgia is nice, but the "cream and pudding" layout (on top of the fact that the site's code is ancient and certain areas of the site still bear mention to a name that hasn't been used in years) make the site look decrepit.

So this is gonna be the new layout for this site in the coming future? Perhaps I should keep it in case I want to do some HTML on the layout of my future games. It looks really nice.

EDIT: Except for the actual games however. It still uses the same layout as the old. I'm gonna change it back. Hopefull in the future the stories will also have the same layout.

It would be cool if members could disable the styles used on their profile page and build them from scratch with CSS. The only major difference, though, would be the absence of the header and a few other bits. Also, unexperienced people would, of course, try to build a page like Brad's and end up with a nigh-unreadable mess.
