Mod Checks and Balances

i think that each mod who wants to delete somethng from either a game or a forum thread should get a certain percentage of other mods to agree. this will serve to keep every mod in check so that they dont get too much power. when it was just alex, march, solo, and choco it was not needed but with new people coming in i think its something that should be looked at. some people are just not capable of handling too much power. simple as that.

Definitely. But we need to explore it further.

How concerned are we about MOVING? I don't think this is a problem, it's kinda hard to abuse, anyway.

So how would this work? Would there be a DELETE QUEUE? Meaning, you hit the delete button, and then it shows up on the MOD page, waiting for another MOD to delete it?

What if the other Mod doesn't agree? Can/should he remove it from the queue?

What about really bad comments (grafiti, racial slurs, etc)? Is it worth waiting to get rid of those?

i believe that if the mods all had guidelines for what should be deleted then there should never be a very long queue of grafiti or cussing or racial slurs. those are almost without saying needing to be deleted. however, yes, i think a deleting queue needs to be implimented. that way atleast 2 other mods need to agree with it being deleted. as for being moved.... it could also have a queue i guess but im not so concerned about that as i am things disappearing do to one persons disapproval of it. i think that leaves too much power to just one person. if 2 mods dont agree the the post/comment stays where it is. if you need guidelines for this deleting thing i would be happy to write it up. ive written enough rules and regulations in my time lol. your choice though.

Two others, I dont agree.  One otehr is better, March and Choco are barely on - Alex is busy.  I'm on alot - Havac and solo are on a fair bit.  100% on the idea but I know it was aimed at me.  So I think that, a mod deletes it, it goes into teh queue if it stays there for over 48 hours - its auto deleted, other wise it can be rejeted or deleted by any other mod.

why auto deleted only after two days? ANYWAYs, yes i agree with nate.

I say auto go back.

This would stop problems from accidental deletes.

I think having two mods is OK. The biggest concern we all have is censorship.

I like the idea of auto-deleting, so this makes me wonder, how often do you guys check the MOD tab?

I've only checked it twice.  I go around the site as an active member most of the time there is nothing I need to check but comments, but hey, how important are those? (Even though I'm doing a comments/ratings report for the site {Alex - Don't talk about that part})

i check it practically every time i come on. 4-6 times a day.

ACCIDENTLY DELETED ....

by [JJJ-thebanisher] You could remove anything you deleted from teh queue.  Auto Delete because whats the point in having mods if you dont trust them.  Why is it against them to delete comments, it should be, unless you have any argument ageanst it - its deleted.
