Two men are in an open field. Both are wearing backpacks. One is alive, the other is dead.
Ask yes-or-no questions to discover more. The goal is to figure out how the dead man died.

A man is lying dead in the middle of the desert. A straw is lying next to him. Nothing else is nearby.

I GOT ONE- a man goes into a bar. He gets a drink and the tender poisons it. The drink is not poisoned and but if the drink gets cold it is drinkable and if it is hot it is drinkable and not poisonous either way. All there is is the glass, straw to drink it, the man and the ice. FIgure it out

Think of the implications... there are no tracks whatsoever, not even the dead man's...
sand storm or snow storm killed him and covered his tracks.

For the first:
The switch is not for a light alone. I would surmise that it is the backup generator for a hospital. Turning off the electricity would kill anyone dependant on life support.
For your second, I guess that the music is the steady 'beep...beep...beep' of a heart monitor. When it stops, the heart has stopped as well, and the lady would die.
Music- Solution: THe lady is a tight walker and since the music stopeed she thought she was at the other side and fell to her death
LIght- It is a light switch- Hint: The people are all together
this may not work on paper but it does verbally if you say it this way:
3 businessmen are tired and stop at a hotel. they are told that a room is $30. they all chip in $10 to pay for 1 room. they go to their room. the woman who took their money eventually remembers that its discount nite. a room is only $25. therefore, she gives 5 $1 to the bell boy and says to return the $5 to the men. the bell boy cant figure out how to divide $5 between 3 men so he pockets $2 and gives each man $1. now, 3 men essentially paid $9. 9x3=$27. Now $27 + $2 from the bell boy makes $29. what happened to the extra dollar?
this is just a brain teaser that you can tell your friends.
as sherlock holmes would say "elementary my dear watson." good job. however, what you have done is use logical thinking. but if you propose that question to people verbally they add up to $29 and get completely confused. a friend of mine did that the other nite and we sat for about 10 mins till i started thinking that way as well and figured it out.
It was... well, just a desert. The kind with sand and extreme temperatures. The region is pretty much irrelavant.
The time of day he died is likewise irrelavant.
Once again, think of the implications of the fact that there are no tracks around the man. This is not because the tracks were covered or marred.
