Two player characters

So, I have another idea for a storygame, but it's from a novel I wrote the first (really bad) 50,000+ words of, so it's an idea that's been floating around in my head for a while.

The problem is, I have two different characters who would work for the player character. And both would kind of show different aspects of the world and their own personalities (I can go into more detail in messages if anyone is interested).

Has anyone ever written a storygame with two player characters? Or is this just going to be too complicated and I should give up?

Nothing particularly complicated about it, but if you're not sure you want to tackle it you could always plan two games showing the same events from differeng POVs, like in Necromancer and Death Song.

My storygame, These Shackled Souls, has two player characters whose narratives are interwoven throughout the story. It's not as branchy as I would've liked it to be, but each character's choices affect the story for the other.

I've also planned a storygame where the reader can choose between two characters' povs at the start of the story. While it follows the same plot, they have diametrically opposing goals; there's no need for a reader to read both sides but doing so would add depth to the story. I might make that one a short story actually, it'll be difficult to manage otherwise.

I'm not sure how helpful it'll be, but you could try searching using the multiple protagonists tag to see if other stories have used the mechanic you're thinking of.

In These Shackled Souls it worked really well. It inspired me to do something similar, also unfinished. It's a tricky one to get right, but the effect can be really great, as TSS demonstrats.
