Hi, My name is Jackson. I have been browsing thsi site for the last 2 or 3 days. I enjoy:
1. playing games
2. coding random stuff
3. reading [especially fanfiction]
4. writing

Something else to know about me is that I am blind.

I enjoy Endmasters work, JJJ's Order of the Midnight son, the homo perfectous series, bz's games especially dead man walking and dungeon stompage, and probably a few more I'm forgetting.

Welcome to CYS!

Looking forward to reading your work.  : )

Welcome!

If you're thinking of making your own storygames, I'd suggest giving ChoiceScript a try. If you can already code, you're likely to be frustrated by the limitations of the scripting here, IMHO. But definitely try both and see which you prefer!

... Are you just recommending evereyone to ChoiceScript nowadays? XD

Not indiscriminately, buuut to someone with prior coding experience, who isn't in a position to use Twine's graphical approach? Yes. ^_^

Welcome! Don't listen to Morgan, she's a filthy, backstabbing traitor.

*grooms feathers* That's a slanderous lie! I'm a very well-groomed backstabbing traitor. ^_^

Bullshit. We all saw you peck Drakoblare's eyes out. You are metaphorically covered  in his viscera.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! and for choice script, I tried it months ago and couldn't get the hang of it, don't remember why, I'll give this site's scripting a try but if it doesn't work, I'll try choicescript again. It seems like this scripting can be cool though, bz seems to use it pretty effectively in his games.

Hi, Jackson! Welcome to CYS!

I'm a bit of a roleplaying expert, so if you have any questions about roleplaying or pretty much anything else, you're welcome to ask me!

Ok, I'll keep that in mind! I may get into a forum game when I have time. Oh yeah, btw, does anyone know how to turn off the rich text editor for posts? It works for my profile and such, but not for posts. It might just be my computer though.

(Do not trust Wolfmist  *furiously rolls eyes* -_-)

And yeah. You can go to your profile and check "disable Rich text editor". Alternatively you can click "source" to convert it when in reply.

Well I guess you can't trust anyone *suspicious eyes*

I'm sorry but I do not know what you mean by that exactly.

Hiiii!

I'm suspecting you. Can that be any more clear?

Hiiii!

You're suspecting me, for what? You're not being clear at all.

I apologize for not interpreting the meaning of a vague, seemingly randomly-placed forum post.

Welcome. I apologize if I seem rude, but I am curious. How do you navigate the internet when you are blind?

So, something like JAWS?

Hiiii!

Yes, I use that. And sorry about the html stuff on that post I couldn't get the rich text editor to do source, it's not turning off for posts when I uncheck that box in your profile to use the rich text editor so yeah.

That's awesome. My dad uses to work with JAWS :D

Alright. When you reply to me, and therefore open the editor, click "source", which is next to spellcheck and emoticons. Hopefully that should work.

It's kind of a glitch.  It happens to me quite often.  The best thing to do is make sure it's unchecked, close any tabs that have the site open, then clear your cache and restart your browser.  Sometimes you have to do it several times before it finally takes effect.

How to you clear your cash?

What browser are you using?

IE like, 9 or something.

I found this...

Internet Explorer 9

  1. Click on the Tools menu and choose Delete Browsing History.
If the menu bar is not visible, click the "gear" (Tools) button at the top right, expand the Safety submenu,
and then choose Delete Browsing History. Or use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
  2. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, be sure that Preserve Favorites website data is not checked
if Key Survey is in your Favorites.
  3. Also in the Delete Browsing History dialog box, be sure that Temporary Internet Files and Cookies
are checked. Click the Delete button.
  4. Exit (close all browser windows) and then restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

I am also blind,  and yes,  I use the dreaded JAWS Screen Reader.  Anyway,  The Rich Text editor works for me.  Pressing Source just causes  my Browser to crash.  But I know how to deal with it.  BTW, thanks for the shortcut to delete the history!  That helps!
