I think I first found this site about a week ago looking for a good supply of choose your story games. I decided to make an account and try my hand at making one of my own. I might also post some of my short pieces of writing.

Also, don't forget to read and review stuff. There are some pretty good stories here. Some pretty bad ones too, but I mean, nothing wrong with giving constructive feedback for bad stuff.

Thank you! I've done a good amount of reading so far. Absolutely loving how much is on this site, given how much trouble I was having finding stories earlier. I'm not a big reviewer, though I am going to try and leave more now that I have an account!

Hey there, welcome! I'd been taking a look at the first page of your story earlier, actually, seems like a promising idea and there are lots of fans of big epic fantasy stories here. (You should take a look at some of Endmaster and Ninjapitka's works if you haven't already btw.)

Thank you! It's an idea that's been in my mind for awhile, and is well suited for something shorter which I saw was recommended for a first story. I do quite a bit of roleplaying so I have many ideas that have been fleshed out and evolved. If I really get into it, I have some ambitious ideas that will lean towards quite a length if I choose them. 

I have checked out at least one of Endmaster's, and I think I've seen one from Ninjapitka as well. I'll confess when I was first browsing I didn't pay close attention to the names of the authors.

Oh, since you said you like dragons, Brad's got a couple dragon stories, and if you're browsing on PC be sure to grab the site extension while you're there, it gives you the option to toggle on dark mode from your profile and adds a few other useful features.

Does your username have a backstory?

It does! In a group chat I was in we noticed that ;-; looked a little crab-like. We were awkward children so we used it often, and found an affection towards ;-; and hence crabs. This snowballed into us spamming the crab emoji for fun, and the three of us involved decided we had a crab cult. It evolved to be more than just spamming the crab emoji, with basic tenants forming which amounted to be a good person, swear with crabs/lobsters only, and also don't dox yourself. Some of us were beginning to have an online presence. With mine, I thought I might spread the crab cult, so I named myself the High Priestess (priest for short, due to length restrictions. I also thought and still think priest feels cooler than priestess.) The two other friends I had who it had started with I also labeled as the Crab Queen, and Crab King, though they didn't incorporate this into their usernames. I keep attachments to old things, so my name underwent very little variation. The common ones being JadeTheCrab or JadeTheCrabHighPriest: Jade being the name I took for myself online, along with being the name of a representation of myself to my characters.

I can definitely see it. I wish I could make a better one.

Crabs are well known for their aversion to doxxing themselves, this is a good tenet.

Anyway, that's a funny story, although I kind of disapprove of taking on the high priest title with only online certification, back in my day you had to go to an actual beach and summon a horde to terrorize the locals for the final exam.

That is fair, that is fair. I admit to being rather young and unknowledgeable at the time. I thought I had independently come to understand the superiority of the Crab! I do know better now, that in all of the crab's power, followers show up independent of one another. The truth is simply too bold to ignore!

Hi! And thank you, I made it with a character creator on picrew. I believe this is the one I used. I'm working on my ability to draw humans, and hopefully will be able to draw the character in my pfp myself someday!

Absolutely! Great for visualizing something you aren't able to draw. And also can just be fun to play around with!

I saw the pm before this, but I'll repost my answer here in case any other newbie finds it useful. It's certainly not the most high-tech thing and may not be the most efficient method but it worked for me.

First go to my stuff > pictures and upload a photo. There are some size and dimension limitations so you can play around with those until it fits. My low tech way of making it a smaller file was just to take square screenshots of the same image until the image was accepted.. But there are probably ways to simply compress it online.

Then you can go to my stuff > profile > avatar photo and pick the image out

You can just Google "resize images online" too.

     Do you have threaded mode on? I don't mind but most of the site does and it gets annoying if noobs keep responding to the wrong posts.

     Welcome! Good that you actually like the stories, somehow people have found this site and come here without wanting to read or write. Or they're fine with it but say they're bored first.

     Anyway, sorry, I think it might be helpful to read this.

     Oh, and really important, the gray button at the top of the whole thread to the right should say non-threaded. I don't know why, but if it says non-threaded you're in threaded mode. Sorry if that's just me, but generaly you want to have threaded on if you don't already.

Mostly! It's still sometimes a weakness of mine, in comparison to other writers. 

Might want to double check for lose/loose mixups in your storygame btw.
