I just signed up a few hours ago and am in process of making my first storygame.

Also a quick little question: is the advanced editor really that much harder than the basic editor?

The advanced editor isnt much harder, a lot of complex things can be done with a graphical interface. You must have seen that warning.

What happened to your usual 'be my slave or else you'll die a horrible death' greeting?

Does this mean there shall be a new Bird-giraffe faction in the war?

I think it's more of a one man army-thing like batman. That and most new factions don't join in the war unless they want to. 

I'd prefer not to get involved in a way till at least I manage to learn about the factions in that war. Plus I am more of a lone wolf than a loyal soldier or leader.

Just do what I do.

Be neutral, bide your time, and destroy all your enemies when they least expect it.
