I'm just starting to read this book. (Prince of Thorns #1 of The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence)
Does anyone have anything to say about it? Has anyone read it? It looks amazing; I'm so excited to read it. :3

I got about 50 pages in and stoped. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrative style. There were jumps back in time that I didn't care about, and the main character wasn't very interesting to me.

Yeah, the style I don't like.

Jump backs in time? As in boring? Superfluous? Confusing?

Aww. I was really excited about getting to know Jorg more. :/

I just want wasn't interested enough to care about a full blown backstory in the narrative, taking up multiple chapters. He had me just onboard enough to stay with the present, but when he lost that momentum, I was done.

The main character struck me as a prototypical brooding prince Mary Sue.
