Hello all. It has been brought to my attention, (thank you, IAP) that this article: Link is not up-to-date.

I intend to add myself to the list, but considering the descriptions of the admins: Havocoman (who was recently seen, therefore, not totally inactive) Solostrike (who is definitely not the least active anymore,) 3J (who is no longer the most active Admin,) Zero, (who is clearly no longer up for philosophical debates, as he has not posted on the forums in over 2 and 1/2 years,) October (who probably can't be contacted for scripting help anymore, because s/he has also not posted or even logged in in roughly 2 and 1/2 years) or Ugilick, (who hasn't posted in 8 months, and thus, is most likely not available to playtest or send out a "a constant stream of welcome messages to new members")

This list also does not include BerkaZerka, and adds that the most likely members to co-author with you are "cool74, fergie14233, NeverMind, ThisisBo, and SindriV," all of whom are no longer very active when/if at all.

So. I would like suggestions for updating this list. Please read the article and consider the categories (members who are very friendly / welcoming, likely to co-author if asked, likely to beta if asked, all of our resident scripting experts, people who are good conversationalists / debaters, exc.)

REGARDING CO-AUTHORING: Please do not volunteer someone else in that category, only make a suggestion for that if it's about yourself. The amount of effort and responsibility that co-authoring, or even beta-reading, requires can be massive and time-consuming. A lot of people, as friendly as they are, are too busy and may feel bad about saying no, so I don't want to push obligations onto them that they did not volunteer for.

Regarding scripting: I would prefer that you only suggest members who have displayed great skill in this area. For example, while I can answer a decent amount of scripting questions and I use CYS scripting and HTML in all of my games, I would still not put myself on the list because I am not at the same level as past or present site experts.

(I also request that whoever you suggest for a helpful user has been active in at least the last two months. Please and thank you.)

This is funny :) About seven or eight months ago I wrote some updates of the articles including this one and sent them to a Mod but he told me he didn't think this one needed updating or that it wasn't necessary to list members to seek out as new members would quickly work that out by looking at the Forums... a lot of the Articles do need updating though (SindriV is still active btw because a few weeks back he sent me an idea for the Knights of Cystia story). I think EndMaster should definitely be added to the list of he isn't on there already as the site's most accomplished author, I'd be happy to be listed as a friendly and welcoming member (which I mostly am) but I don't want to co-author with new members because in the past that has led me to being bombarded with pm's from people who were weird and offensive and it's slightly soured me on the whole experience (though obviously I'm happy to co-author with established site members and non-crazy people :P)

Anyway I think anything that improves the Articles Section is definitely a good idea and this one is more dated than most :)

Well... xD seven or eight months ago, I was not an admin. I have seen a lot of questions lately about who to talk to for various subjects. Articles save me (and other people) a lot of time explaining things, imho, and time is something I am desperately trying to manage well while I'm here so I can not just keep the forums / comments clean for you guys, but also host exercises and write games.

Yeah, I've seen SindriV around, that's why he was not included on the list of people who needed their descriptions changed.

Hmm. Well, I've seen End be pretty helpful at times and he is just generally notable. (Hell, when I first joined, I was half convinced he had a cult here.) I suppose I could compile a list of "authors to check out if you're not sure what to read first." (Hehe. No worries. I also would not generally recommend myself for co-authoring, because not only am I absurdly busy lately, but I've also had bad experiences.)

Keep in mind when listing End - he passes off 97% of his calls for writers aid to Will. So add a caveat: Only helpful to the clinically depraved. Hahaha.

Not true, I also pass them off to Kiel!

(In the past I used to direct them to Berka, Aman and Killa for all those questions about scripting)

That explains so much, actually. xD

I think Nevermind is the only person who I've seen on recently, might be getting names mixed up though.

NeverMind has not posted in the forums in 2 and 1/2 years. Last log in was 8 months ago.

Sort of surprised Nevermind is on there at all considering all she was well known for was being a spamming fan girl.

"New" Mods:

BerkaZerka- An amazing moderator, although can be hidden from time to time, is a smart one. He is a distinguishable author with a great knowledge of scripting.

Sethaniel- Seth has been around the block a few times, and he knows what's up to date. He is a very talented author, many which are a hit success.

Kiel_Farren- He is a moderator fresh out of the oven, and he is struggling to make his mark! So far so good, as we say. #Hail_Farren

Seth's actually on the list, but thank you. What about regular users / scripting members? And do you want to be added to the co-author list?

I was actually just making a quick reference, if that helps anybody for a starter that'd be splendid! I'd be honored to be added to list, not as a co-author, but maybe an all-around helper? Any new members can go ahead and question me, maybe.

And, you can go ahead and make me a "co-author" of the member's list if ya' like :)

Well, for Scripting, I think BradinDvorak would be a nice addition.

(I would say Ford or Swift, but I think it would do more harm than help...)

Well, I'm always up for a nice chat. Debates are fun, and new philosophical views can always be discovered and discussed. And motivating someone (or attempting to.), or helping with short little snippets of writing are things I could do to. Sadly, everything else I'm probably gonna do more harm then good.

I've been here for almost 2 years (omg, how the time flies by), and I haven't missed more then a week at a time, and even those are rather rare. I usually pop up for at least a few minutes each day to check for messages/interesting forum topics (with seem in much shorter supply then when I first came). I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Wouldn't mind being mentioned as a debater, if that's a thing.

Well, I'm up for co-authoring and maybe a guy to PM when any newbies might have any non-scripting related questions.

EDIT: Well, I'm actually up for the debating this as well(again, if that's a thing).

I'm not really sure if it's a good idea to have a list of people who are "most likely to co-author." I mean obviously there are a lot of co-authored games where the writers made a great team and clearly both parties put in a lot of effort... But I find a lot (or probably most) of the time, people who go out seeking co-authors are just lazy noobs who get bored by their own games after 10 minutes of writing and just want somebody more talented to write their stories for them.

That's great, you two, but I am not asking because it was my idea. :P It was put up by J3 and written by Ugilick. I'm updating the list, not removing categories.

I nominate @mizal to be listed among the most friendly.

Users come and go, so I don't think we need a section for them, nor do we need to have the list for potential co-authors.

Anyone who needs scripting help should post in the forums under the category. Members change, and what they ask about privately might end up helping someone if it's public information.

The article should just be a list of admins and founders really. Unless one already exists, in which case we should just remove this article.

I appreciate your input. However, I am not asking if this should be a thing. It already is one and I am only asking for input to update it, and if you'd rather not contribute to it, that's fine, too. :P

Removing is a form of updating ^_^

I mean it in the sense of "give (someone/something) the latest information about a subject," not that you didn't know that. (Destroying something really isn't "modernizing it," though.) Again, if you don't want to contribute to the info on it, no one's twisting your arm. You were one of the people I wanted to add, so I guess it's good to know you object.

I only object to co-author being listed, because asking random people to write you story for you is just not being a good author.

Users/scripting helping I don't object to, I just think you're making more work for yourself in the future since people come and go. Though scripting advice would be better if it was public so other people could use it for reference.

Ok. And I won't list you for that. (Again, it was self-volunteers for that category only, and it's not a category I invented.)

Not everyone is capable of posting on the forums due to glitches or their available devices, not everyone knows who to tag when they post if no one else is responding, and if I cared about not doing any work, I would've never volunteered to take on mod duties.
