Does anyone recall what events happened on this site during these years that brought in so many people. as I'm seeing a good number of members joined during those two years. 2014 I can vaguely remember, 2011 is to grand-dad though.

Might've been the year CYS started accepting warrior immigrants to stay here for protection against the haters. What a mistake...
In my case, I joined once I ran out of Cys stories to read on Infinite Story and other cyoa websites.
I think the population actually spiked in 2015, not 2014. The reason being that Malk posted the site to Reddit. Doesn't mean all the people that joined from there stuck around.
It all kind of blurs together at this point, but I remember 2014 as being like, CYS's year of peak shittiness. The forums were just unreadable and the WC plague was at its height iirc.

Bit of a spike around 1 Jan 2016 ± 10 days, but then again, little data.
I joined in 2011 (god, I'm getting old...), but I only joined because I was googling cyoa stories, if I remember correctly. There was nothing particular that made me join in that year.
I joined in 2013, that was when the Mustaches and the Ice-Fire things were starting to wind down. We had a pretty good time.
