A place to sit back, hang out, and make monkey noises about anything you'd like.

So me and my friends are going to participate in this zombie-like infection event our little town is doing. It starts with one half of the players zombies, and the other half being survivors. The survivors are further put into two teams, each with an objective like finding a box or killing a special zombie. The special zombies include a Screamer, which has a "nest" of sleeping zombies near it which will activate when nearby, Stalkers which are zombies that sneak up on survivors, and Brutes which essentially don't die when shot with a NERF/foam dart gun.

So, have any of you played this before? Any variations you have made up? Just a little thing to do on the holiday.

I've participated in a shittier version of what you've described just a couple of weeks ago. The part that made it shitty was that we didn't have any guns or weapons of any sort. What made it shittier still is that even if we had gotten weapons like that, they wouldn't of been real. And all because some dumbass managed to get a concussion when they tackled someone the last time they did it. But other than that, they were basically the same as what you described. And we got make up done.

I've played in a couple of events like this at an air soft field near me. Basically the same thing you mentioned just with airsoft weapons. They are extremely fun to play. In our version we have to defend our base but their are special survivors "infected" that can suddenly and randomly turn into a zombie while inside your base. Hope you have fun!

Sounds like a blast!

I always wanted to do one of these scenarios with paintball, but never got around to it. The challenge was how to determine when you got bit. The idea of using flag football steamers came up. That and playing in close quarters, so the zombies could get close enough to grab one.

There was also the rule that only a head shot would stop a zombie (good face protection a must) and eveyone only had 10 shots, with small ammo caches hidden on the course.

Zombies killed with head shots restaged after a few minutes and the game was won by last man standing, with players joining the zombie side when they lost their flags.

Figured there would also have to be a goal at the end and a specific progress route throughout, not only to channel players, but to allow zombies to regroupbat each stage, so there would always be a crap ton of them.

Anyway, have fun and let us know how it turns out!

Ohio State has a large scale game of a similar nature. I never played, but all of campus is basically the playground with buildings and steps being safe havens for obvious safety and educational reasons. Survivors are tasked with missions throughout the game, and all players have a bandanna signifying which side they're on. When you "die" you join the zombie team.

Anyway for a week or so, you see all these kids walking around with nerf guns, sprinting between buildings or forming protective groups.
