... How much of a huge nerd my stories reveal that I can be. In one death sequence, I gave references/nods to three old video games (two of which were text adventures) and Star Wars: The Empire strikes back in two sentences, with a truly terrible pun. *facepalm* I apologize in advance my my future readers. :P Welcome to my dark side. 

Also, if anyone's interested atm, yes... AGOLAD is still in production. It's broken the 600 page mark, but I am honest-to-God seeing the light at the end of the ridiculously long tunnel now. I just want to make sure I give you guys enough options and fine-tune things in a way I can be proud of, I guess.

Thanks. xD While I say I'm nearly done and that's -true-... it's going to break the 700 page mark, easily. *sigh* I cannot believe this monster started as just "I'll just make a silly little horror fic, for fun, just as a test. I'll make a -real- story after this."

The problem I have with length, or the problem I have with what I write.

Is I am /telling/ the story, but I feel like I don't get enough done if I write alot, which I like to try to do.

So if I have like, 15 pages of straight story, I feel as if the reader is going to go "I want to play a game, not this boring piece of shit, jihelu go kill urs elf pls" and im like "o"

But considering you aren't me, write as much as you can, and I will read every single word of it. Then cry*

I see. I... -don't- have 15 pages of straight story at any point in my game. I have a lot of pages for the sake of multiple pathways, replayability, battle options, multiple endings, easter eggs, and so on. So many people make the complaint that stories are too linear and too short. I do, too, and I'm trying to make it vast enough that I can be proud of it personally.

Every word? xD You'll... have to replay a few times for that, but... if you're sincere, then I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Yeah, I... don't know that I can make you cry, but I'll give it a shot. ;)

I believe he's saying (Not that I agree with him in any way) that you are merely saying it is this long in order to attract players.

Oh. Hm... you may be right, it just didn't sound like that to me. Well, if so: I said it because 1, a couple people asked if I'm going to finish, so "if anyone's interested," that's why it's taking so long. 2...  because it's true.

This post wasn't to brag. If anything, it started as playful self-deprecation. However, no one else seems to find it amusing, so... fail. xD

no no no, I meant that 600 pages is epic, and I'm expecting a fun time with it. OMS is only 450 pages..

Oh... ... wait, that was a compliment? Wow, that one sailed riiiight over my head. xD (And Drakilian's, which makes me feel like less of a jerk, so thanks, Drak, lol...) Oops. I'll ask next time instead of assuming like that. (After all, "when we assume, it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and--" yeah, you know. xD)

Aman recommended the game to me before I joined up, so I'm looking forward to it re-coming out as well ^_^

I personally don't mind lengthy pages, but I often lose interest once the story starts to seem too linear. I can't wait for AGOLAD to be released though, it looks really good. 

Aaaand my story has hit the 800 page mark. My brain hurts, but by God, I will make it to Spring Thing.

I think the largest one on this site was BerkaZerka's, which amounts to 1000 something? 

Tin Star, a COG game, runs for 80,000 words in one playthrough, though.

Hmm... need to remember to ask Berka the exact page count. xD Not that it matters or changes things in the slightest, I'm just curious now.

80,000 words for a single play-through runs into "Oh my god, how did the author live long enough to finish this" territory. O_o

(Well...if you're really serious, you can jump in right now if you wanna. I am not above admitting I could seriously use a fresh set of eyes and brain. One of the six final alternate pathways is fully complete... or, at least, it better be. The other five, well... one needs a patch job, one needs to be fleshed out, and the other three just need to... be. If you PM me, I'll get you to the start of the functional one. Otherwise, if you'd rather just play around and see if you can spot the change / new content yourself, go nuts.)

I'll definitely open it up soon. Got nothing to do in the next 5ish hours. XD
