Hey guys, im not sure if this story game is out there yet, but tell me if it is.

Remember, this is a very, VERY rough idea of what it will be about.

I was thinking of a story about the human race not being what people think it is. The human race actually has it's own home world ( Not Earth, obviously) which was destroyed by pollution and war. The human race had a select few (Billion) people come on a massive fleet of ships set out to find a new home world to live on. You see, the humans lived on a planet about the size of Jupiter, and the planet was overcrowded at 3 trillion people. So 7.5 billion people isn't anything at all. They found "Earth" which was inhabited by a primitive, peaceful species which had no meaning of harming visitors, and destroyed all of the sentient beings on Earth, leaving a fresh new planet, and no one to share it with. 

What we younglings call "History" is actually just tales made up by the hierarchs to make us think we have been here for quite the time (Which we haven't of course). One person has found out about this, and intends to release all of this to the public, but is stopped by the military so he may not release this information to the rest of the population.

thats pretty much a rough summary for now. So what do you think? Is it a good enough idea for a story game? o3o

Sounds interesting. It reminded me of Battlestar Galactica? first and then planet of the apes :p

You definitely have enough of an idea here to make a good story game out of. All you need to do now is flesh out the "story" portion.

The beginning sounds like Homeworld game. I assume this is going to a mystery type story?

Well, not exactly. More of a suspense/puzzle/sci-fi kind of an idea. I thought of this a while back, but I had no idea if someone did it already.

Well in Homeworld your species(not human) finds out it's actually from another planet and so the entire game is about reaching your original/new home using a massive super-carrier type ship. It's got a nice backstory on it and it's a pretty fun.

It's a great setting and plot hook that turns everything we think we know on its head. There's a lot of interesting directions you could take this - it could be a mystery, a thriller, an action adventure, or all of the above.

The only snag I foresee is how we convinced all the billions of people who came on the original ships to keep the truth a secret.

Wouldn't they have to be brainwashed or something if they're convinced they had history on that planet? 

Of course. Brainwashing tech - a must have for any secret, evil hierarchy. xD

In all seriousness though, it seems to stretch the suspension of disbelief a little bit that the hierarchy went to such insane lengths to forge a new history.

How would they believe it then? And why would they need new memories/a history on earth anyway? It sounds like they came to earth peacefully, couldn't they just live like that? It could be compared to people living in different countries, except the countries are planets...

This has been done. It's called: "Toopie and Beenu." 

It ias a tale of two young... things, that are left behind after thingkind has gone to it's homeworld. That's why there are no people! What a lovely tale, of friendship, passion, and romance! 

That sounds really good.  I like where this is going, but maybe not just one person knows this, but many more people.  Obviously, these people are scattered throughout the world (or have been murdered).  Anyways, however you write it, good luck!

Or they could rise up against the government in a rebellion group and you could slide in heaps of emotional moments when the rebels get brutally murdered
