The Chris Parable (Motivational Thread)

Let's copy just about everyone working on a major project and make a motivational thread!

This little story, inspired by The Stanley Parable, is called "The Chris Parable". In the game, you play as me, Chris, trying to find out why my WiFi isn't working. Since I don't know how to give a really good summary, I'll just show you guys the first page:

This is the story of a teenager named Chris. Everyday, Chris would browse the forums of CYS and waste his time. Sometimes, he would just stare at the screen blankly. One day, he decided to make a thread. He wrote a long rant about WC which would most likely get deleted for it's inappropriate nature. As he clicks the 'Post Message' button, he gets the error message that Chrome shows him when his internet is down. Basically, this means his internet is down, and he needs to find out why!

Chris stands up and walks out of his room. He goes to the backroom, where the router is.

Walk to the backroom

Walk to the kitchen

That was it. So far so good I suppose. I intend to finish this rather than abandon it like all my other recent projects. Here's the first progress report:

Completion: 20%

Endings complete: 2 of 10

Pages written: 16

Well, I wrote two of the endings: The 'Disobedient' ending, and the 'Smells Like Bacon' ending. Both of these involve disobeying the narrator's instructions. Like the Stanley Parable, you may obey or disobey the narrator, and obeying the narrator results in a better ending.

Pff... One of the best endings comes from disobeying the narrator, I think.

I've only ever played the original, and in that game, the best ending is achievable through obeying what the narrator says.

2nd progress report:

Completion: 30%

Endings complete: 3/8

Pages written: 19

*Reduced endings from 10 to 8.

*Added "Trapped" ending. (Which uses the first pages of two popular storygames) This ending is heavily inspired by the ending of Stanley Parable where the narrator takes Stanley to Minecraft and one of the first levels of Portal.

*Fixed several mistakes

Feel free to try and find the 3 endings that there is.

Seems pretty short. I'll give it a look when it's finished.

Wait.  For just one more page, the completion went up 10%.  How important is that page?

The Chris Parable (Motivational Thread)

I add 10% for every ending I complete.

The percentages don't seem accurate then.  Well, unless you count an ending as a page.

Is the true ending possible?

Yeah, it is. If you need help on it, just PM me. I don't want to say it here, people might follow the instructions rather than find it themselves.
