New to the Site: A few questions

Hey,

After finding this site a few days ago I have spent a lot of time playing through a couple of the highly rated games such as Eternal and Necromancer. I thoroughly enjoyed it with 'Eternal' being my favored of the two.

This has led me to consider writing a story of my own (I used to enjoy writing stories and such when I was younger), but I am probably very much out of practice. While I have a slight idea of a story which I hope is different to anything else on here, I came up with an idea of doing a shorter 'prequel' of sorts. Mainly to get back in the swing of writing again.

So im just kind of looking for some advice really for a first time 'Game Writer' and perhaps some links to some other first time shorter stories other than the larger and more in depth that I have read. While I would hope to do something larger in the future, I would think that I should probably start off smaller and see what you guys think before I spend a lot of time doing something with poor descriptions etc.

So yea, any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

You've seen the "Help & Info" section link to the left, right? Use it. There are dozens of articles that offer information and help on various topics, including advice for new writers. I've written a couple myself.

Indeed, read every article there in the Help & Info section. You might start with this one.

Yea thanks for that. I feel pretty stupid after finding these after I posted the question. I have started doing a shorter story first to get back into writing. I will keep using the advice posts in the help section while im doing it.

Thanks for the help  : )

No need to feel stupid, we were all new once.
