So I am making a zombie game(rare isn't it!) anyway, but what I am doing is trying to allow players to do something that other zombie games on here don't do(at least I have not seen any). I am trying to make it so the player goes through the main story, but also has base that they return to at the end of a mission and here they will be able to purchase survivors using daily supplies they find out scavenging. They can also use these to expand their camp and at the end of the day they will lose supplies that are used to support the survivors they have. The player will also get a certain amount of supplies based on the number of players they have because there is crafting in this game. So for all of you that have played the Last of Us online that is what I am trying to follow, but of course have a different storyline. Any advice, or if you think it is a good idea, or if it is terrible.

It's an alright idea in my opinionion.

Though, my opinions usually have many layers to them.
  • Zombie game: A bit overused and the ones that are good are REALLY good - so it's tough competition, but the advantage is being recent.
  • Seems like some advanced scripting and variable usage. Godspeed.
  • The plot will have to be a major part, or this game sounds boring and tedious. Like a video game without visuals.
  • I don't have any suggestions (sorry D:), but these are inherit problems I see just on the surface.

Sounds pretty doable, items and variables can be used well in zombie games if implemented well and like a computer game it's always fun seeing how many zombies you can kill. I think having a base/shop would be a good place for the reader to rest between chapters, regain health, spend money etc but it'd take a lot of work to be done well :)
