Question

I'm writing a story about a guy who lives on a culturally almalgamous volcano continent with biker gangs and kung fu. The protagonist is named "Juan Fei Han" in reference/homage to Wong Fei Hung. Is this racist? I mean, it probably isn't racist, people change up the names of folk heroes to give to different characters with similar quests all the time, "Danny" Webster from that one college project that the LAZOR collection guy did comes to mind. And "Percy Jackson", of course. But something about ol' Juan just feels like somebody's going to take it the wrong way. I can feel it in my nads.

I'd think not.

It sounds normal to me.

It's a homage anyways, so how is that racist?

I dunno. I guess I'm just feeling oversensitive, having surfed Tumblr looking for one of my friends' art thingies too long.

For all we know, Juan Fei Han could be an actual name. So no, I don't think anyone would get offended.
