Just a short game about a bird trying to find its master. Sort of sad.

I really don’t know why I decided to read this instead of a more recent story, but this one really isn’t terrible.
SPOILERS
As some of the comments mention, it is a little weird to have a family friendly game that seems like it might be aimed toward children where all you can do is be a bird, flail hopelessly, and die. I definitely checked, and there isn’t any good ending or survival. This didn’t really bother me, and I suppose it didn’t say anywhere that this was supposed to be a children’s game, so what do I know?
It’s obviously very short, but I think these kinds of animal perspective games tend to be. I don’t think that I enjoyed reading it, but it definitely wasn’t bad. There is a level of writing competency that makes it easy to read, and the concept is interesting enough that I kept reading it, but really, after you experience one ending there’s no reason to keep reading it.
All in all, I definitely don’t regret reading it, and I think it’s short enough that nobody’s really going to hate it.

This is one of those games that makes me feel all sad ;-;
You did a really good job fleshing it out, and I could really feel for the bird, and feel sad and bad about what happens to it.
This storygame has an interesting plot, and although it was short, I liked the writing and the style of the author. I would read more from this author in the future.
That being said, I found this storygame to repeat itself a bit, which is a bit annoying and boring, but I guess it was still a good read overall.
Like some of the other comments say, it was inspiring. I really want to grow wings and injure one of them and then go on this adventure to see what it's like xD
3/8, good job but not the best.

I liked this game, it was sad and nice to see things realistically from a wounded animal's point of view. Within it's limits it was a good short-story game :)

Spoiler-free review
I must admit I was somewhat confused as to why Broken Wings’ score is the way it is after reading through the first few pages. It’s a well written, succinct story that makes good use of the tools it decides to use, and completely ignores those it finds unnecessary. Only after collecting all the endings did I realize the reason for the low rating, which is that the game fails to prepare the reader for what they’re about to read by underselling itself.
What I’m referring to is the final three words of the description. “Sort of sad” isn’t technically a wrong way to put it, but that’s like saying getting hit by a truck is “kind of painful”. Also technically correct, but at the same time it’s hard to fault anyone for getting angry at whoever used that statement to create expectations. Between that, a very low maturity rating, and it being in the family friendly category on top of the simple premise (all of which are indeed accurate) it’s easy to assume that the score is a result of people coming back from this storygame filled with disappointment, and maybe a hint of depression they weren’t prepared for.
And that’s a real shame because at its core this is a well done story with some solid narration that while brief does manage to convey all the events and emotions it needs to. This is especially important as due to the nature of the protagonist there is no dialogue, or even character work to speak of, but at no point is that lack noticeable to the reader. Grammar is also at an appropriate level, a few sentences can feel strange in a vacuum, but they fit decently enough into the scenes they’re part of. Branching wise there’s a decent amount of choices due to how short most pages are, with some minor looping that didn’t bother me much.
I do feel somewhat bad about Broken Wings being rated so low, but that fate was perhaps inevitable in its case. It is by no means a masterpiece, but I might go as far as saying that it is something of a hidden gem that now waits forgotten until someone else randomly stumbles onto it. Small and somewhat depressing to look at, but still a gem. Sort of sad I guess.
Final score: 5/8

The ending was sad. I don't think there's an ending where you live.
