Player Comments on Choose your Life

Well... that was terrible. Here's why:

PLOT: Well, this game is "choose your life" however, little choice is actually offered. The first few pages of the game are literally "You are a girl. You are tomboy", which doesn't exactly scream RP. You did include a few choices, but they were unrealistic. I clicked run away on the second choice, randomly found money, then became a rich scientist. Basically, your story left my brain yelling "WTF?"

ITEMS: Your use of items to say yes was just annoying. I understand toying around with items to get the mechanic, but if you're going to to do that it's generally better to just use actual items. If you're a young tomboy, why not include a slingshot or something like that to get into trouble or play or whatever it is you come up with? That would include an element of diversity without causing the reader to have to use items for no reason (which trust me, will make you drop in the ratings).

LENGTH: Well, really there wasn't any. Your pages were fairly short - I seem to recall seeing some with 3 lines apiece. The game wasn't long (in regards to page #) at all either, and the combination of the two makes it look like you don't put effort into your storygames regardless of how accurate that statement actually is.

Also, I didn't include this in my rating process because that would be wrong, but you should watch what you rate other stories. You give just about everything an 8, while otherwise the normal votes would be a 4.

i farted on my computer because this game was on it. I made me a kidnapper and I kill men I guess? because of this, I'm also gonna shart on my computer. guess I have to buy a new one.

its okay except the you are a girl and it want give you a choice to pick a different gender then you became a tomboy and then its says a girl that acts like a tomboy i think you could do more with this and turn it into something great dont stop now make it a wonderful story

Look, this was stupid. If you are so bored, there's absoloutely nothing on the internet to do, then you can do this, but it's really bad. I'm sorry if i hurt your feelings, but I'm also ten, and i'm not this stupid.I mean, there were no choices, really. And then all the questions were meaningless. You had to choose some silly option.That's no fun. I've played Alter Ego, for free, and that means, the 'waiting' session adds up to ONE HOUR while the game play is less than that. But it's worth it. If you need some inspiration, play it. On google. But if you need some coding skills, check out CodeMasters.com- How to Code. BUT,you really need some grammar lessons. Maybe when you get A+ in English or Grammar, create one.

This game is okay I would not play if you are a trouble maker though like me because you will end up having a short story and I became a scientist which is weird because I don't like science I like math,writing,and reading but it was kind of fun actually I don't recommend this game at all it was really boring of the three seconds that I actually played the game so ya that is my final opinion that this game sucks and I don't suggest it at all.

This game is stupid. It makes no sense. Rethink your coding as well.

Didn't really have too many descisions and was too short and really confusing of to what was going on. And didn't really make me care about the character I was and everything. This needs a lot of work to be good. But I'm guessing English isn't your first language.

A "yes" item? First off, the use of items tells me that this is an advanced game. In an advanced game, there is no excuse for expecting the reader to remember their previous choices. You can use variables to make the game do that for them. Secondly, the endings don't reflect your choices in the least and actually suggest to me that this is nothing more than a troll game. I'm sorry, but I can't give this more than a 2.

First, the "Goody goody" ending has a dead link.

The story was rubbish. The writing was very bad with minimal descriptions and it all centered around schools.

Uhh... Well good try but if you're going to make a choose your life story you should probably give the option of whether they're a boy or a girl.

This wasn't really a choose your own...I think that if you were going to make it so simple and vague then you could at least have multiple gender choices and personality choices. Spelling and grammar weren't very good, storyline was just stupid...I didn't like it.

I'm not exactly sure how being a child terror and thief, while never attending a day of school would result in my becoming a scientist?
The concept is good, but I suggest checking out playalterego.com. That should give you a good idea of what you can achieve with this concept. Take that and create a more story/descriptive oriented game and you will have a great thing going! :D

Haha, honestly not bad. The use of items was odd, but it was there. Also, having five endings is cool. taking that at face value makes a game sound pretty good. If you are ten, as you say you are, than I think you did okay. I'm pretty sure you can do better though! Try giving us more depth. Smooth out some of the oddities, like using an item called "Yes" to continue was trifle unneeded. I'm sorry people are pooping on your game! Keep it up. You will only get better. :D

I didn't really understand what was going on. You said in the title that I'm supposed to choose my life but I don't even get to choose my gender or personality(Why am I a tomboy? Can't I be something else?) Also, very simple choices determined the rest of my life which isn't that realistic. You did use items and have different options which is good to see though.

I steal and become a scientist?

Well, I wasn't a big fan. I don't want to sound rude, but there were some things that really bothered me in this. First of all the "You are a tomboy". Yes, in real life you can't choose your gender, so I won't really mention that, but you can choose your personality. Not many choices, except for some stuff in school. And speaking of which, how does sneaking out of a assembly get me rich? And the item "yes". What's that for? Why is it an item? If you were going to make a new one, I would probably allow it to go further than your childhood, allow more choices and personal development, and have actual items. Again, not trying to be rude. Just some constructive criticism.

What? How did I end up a scientist? And why did there need to be pages with one link on them, which explained what a word meant? If I didn't save my two's and one's for garbage, this would get a lower score, but you could end up making it a good game if you try harder.
Don't give the reader a single year in life, and then give the person's life career. That's not how it works. If it worked the way you made it seem, I would be studying rocket science.

Somehow I ended up with 2 'Yeses'. It was a bit odd, but not intentionally terrible like a lot of the recent games have been. Keep at it =)

So the only choices you make in life are your behavior during your first days of school?
The pages are extremely short and I really don't understand why "Yes" is an item.
Overall I'd say you need to put far more time and effort into your game, and come up with a more exciting concept.
