I'm a guy from Poland who likes to write and read science fiction and fantasy stories. While my English may be not so good I'm trying my best to convey whatever scenarios have been born in my head. My only problem is inability to properly finish the stories... I always end in tangled mess of a script.
Anyway I hope you'll enjoy my writing even if it's grammatically flawed.

It's XXIII century, humankind has long ago reached stars. But it's not golden age. Space is harsh master and so we become like it - cold, ruthless and effective. New society was created, new kind of people. Like anthill all we have are our roles to fulfill. Nothing more.
You are one of the War Marionettes - brainwashed humans with technical upgrades who are bound to obey every order of their masters. 'Normal' people call you 'puppets'. Still, you are very special kind of puppet - experimental model. And your foreboding name is Thirteen...
Hint:
*ALWAYS first collect items as some of them are needed for game to function properly
*this is a first part of a series, I may be writing more soon
* and yes - you can get killed here pretty quickly...

Death, fire, flying arrows - it's all you remember from childchood. Yet these memories have scarred, but not broken you. Living peacefully within human settlement, not harboring any vengeful thoughts have done you great deal of rest. Just being normal is enough. These nightmares are thing of the past...
..until this very past comes after you, to remind of all the things lost.
Last Survivor: The Incident

A story of polish Major Matthew Kozucki in the alternative universe, where USSR won the second world war and USA is still isolationistic country in 2025.
Motherland is a great, civilized country, yet there are shadows of the past lurking everywhere... one man will uncover government secrets and maybe, just maybe challege the system.
HINTS:
* You only have two packs of gas grenades... use them sparingly!
* Use your wits! Charging in is NOT preferable solution to all problems.
* Each of three main ways complement each other! Play them all to fully understand the story.
* About twelve endings, based on primary and secondary choices. Secret and True ending incuded!
* The game get's harder in the long run.
ALSO:
This CYOA is second one I created. Considerable more resources and time were spent on it, so I sure hope that story of the major will be relatable to. Each 'simple' ending gives you 15 SCORE points, 'complicated' endings are worth 25 points, 'true' ending is 45 and 'secret' - 50. Also each lore you'll read will allow you to gain one more point each. Score limit is 50, so it's entirely possible to finish with true ending and have the same number points that secret one. I've done so to basically acknowledge people who haven't found the secret story, but still were reading all the stuff I created. So yeah, that's that.

Webcomics on 4/3/2013 3:01:36 AMWell it's true that the community is rather welcoming and tame here :). Main problem of people not responding is that the site has mostly writers... which usually aren't really good with their hands :P. Of course, like you wrote, there is always chance of people who know a thing about drawing. It's just not very high chance...

Well I do think that most 'harem' mangas have pretty shallow plot. Which doesn't mean that it can't be fun.
The prime example is 'Mahou Sensei Negima' - pretty fun manga which spanned hundred of chapters and in the end was a bit... thinned out by the sheer amount of characters and things happening. And wussiness of the main character.

Haha, well we're all lonely in the deep caverns of internet :P. Full of cannibalistic trolls.
Anyway you can ask people about creating your vision here:

I guess there are similar threads on other comic sites and a bit of google research should help you :).

30 minutes is not really that much of a time lag, Amy :P. It's a forum, not an IM ;).
Did you try searching on Deviantart? Or just on some bigger amateur comic site (like Drunk Duck)? I can't really direct you anywhere... I do know one guy from other forum, but he is a game designer... and since running a webcomic is a lot of work (at least regularly) I don't think he'll want to join in.

Could a zombie apocalypse happen?
on 3/29/2013 5:44:08 AM
Well there are weaponized viruses who could theoretically turn Earth into graveyard (if no countermeasures were in place), but it's more of a deadly epidemic - think bubonic plague but on larger scale. The zombie virus would be pretty ineffective (considering normal shuffling zombies) or impossible to contain (in case of fast/intelligent zombies) which pretty much defeats the purpose of weapon.
The only way I think it could happen is some kind of parasite (there are things like that who prey on ants) which would turn us into husks. Of course that would mean there was some genetic engineering in place, but once again as a weapon it's unpredictable. Think Dead Rising game where the source are wasps
Or rabies. Yup, mutation of rabies a'la '30 days later' when it goes just too fast for a countries to contain. And since they can jump, run fast etc. no normal barricade will stop them. Then again these 'zombies' are much weaker than normal ones, because shots to vital organs work. They aren't dead, just mad. And, more importantly after first impact they start decompose pretty quickly. Considering they lost their intelligence and want to feed only on flesh means at most a month of 'living'. Then of course single bite can start another outbreak.
I do tend to excitedly wonder about all kinds of apocalypses (because dwindling resources and growing population WILL create some kind of crisis if nothing will change), but I'm pretty much sure that I'll be one of the shamblers, or just skull somewhere because I find my survival skills lacking. So while fantasizing is fine the thought of it really happening isn't nice. Not at all.
Sore point?

Since we're already talking about some controversial subjects I'm throwing in GMO's. Which of course stands for Genetically Modified Organisms. I've read that there is quite the debate in US (in my poor country too, but it's much less heated) between lovers and haters. And since American government threw some random law that farmers who plant GMO's legally can harvest their products even when plant in the meantime comes under suspicion of being harmful. Or that there don't need to be a label on the products containing GMO's (I'm not fully sure about that one - is it only in some states or US-wide).
From my point of view I'm kinda hoping for some superpowers to be granted by consumption of GMO's. Even if I know it doesn't work that way. On the brighter side I do prefer use of these because of higher yield, easier adaptation etc. So I have no qualms about consuming GMO's because with growing human population we'll starve to death before first human colonies are established. And talking about 'man playing god' seems kinda inappropriate and not important when millions are dying each year.
So what is your opinion, people? Do gains outweigh the risks? Or maybe it's not worth it? And if so then why?

Well yup, pretty much this.
The compromise is better than nothing. Then again from my position religious people wouldn't lose much (anything) if they allowed gays to marry (and this union to be called just 'marriage'). Sadly it isn't so for others.
