As you'll notice, the forums have now been updated. Thanks to all for testing.

In addition to the tweaked look, you can now edit posts that have no replies. Admin/mods can edit all posts.

Nice, I love the look of it.

I like it. I’m a bit of a nostalgia lover, so the transition was a little unsettling when working with the preview. Nevertheless I like it. The updated forums are a pleasure to look at and easier to focus on. A definite improvement. I’m happily transitioning.

This is a hit to the nostalgia...

I like the look though, gives off a retro vibe to me.

I also like the bigger pics, now I can actually make out October and 3J's :)

Also i founda typo, it says "13 minute" rather than "13 minutes"

And you're not sent up to the top after every post, very nice touch.

Just pushed another quick update that fixes the search and old URLS

YES, WE HAVE WORKING SEARCH FUNCTIONS!

Now to see what we can get away with - is there anyway the seach can be listed with the highest rating up top (or at the very least have the rating beside it)?

Should probably mention that when using the link provided in the search, it sends me to here (which is a broken link):

http://chooseyourstory.com/game/?Survive_the_Zombies

Rather than here:

http://chooseyourstory.com/Story/Survive_the_Zombies.aspx

I went forum diving using the fixed search button and found out I'm able to reply to a forum thread from four years ago.

Edit: It's not just that post either. I think I'm able to reply to every post.

Haha, that's great!

Also, I noticed while I was in IE, the option you used to have where if you were logged off you could type a comment and the log in as you click "Post Message" is gone. Now it just takes you to a this service is unavailable page.

Hey Alex just found a couple of bugs.

1. When you're inside a forum (eg. The Lounge), the "number of replies" will show the total number of posts, not the number of replies (in other word, it includes the original post as a reply).

2. Posts that have been accepted, rejected or completed in the Feature Wishing Well no longer have the notes from you/JJJ explaining why it was accepted/rejected.

Yeah, I tried to e-mail alex about point 2 but one of our e-mails isn't working properly haha.

Also, I think there should be something that says "Edited on xxx by xxx".

Okay, you guys should be able to see this problem too: written_agreement's username goes outside the borders of the left-section of the post.

Edit: This appears to have been fixed.

but now we can't see his entire name....

Forums Updated!

And this is why you shouldn't have long names when given the choice!

Sincerly,

I knew you had an epic last name, but your middle name is simply too much. The amount of fantastic in your name is overwhelming. :)

That... is that really your middle name? If so, I bow to your parents, I really do.

One more piece of information for the Google Search...

Forums Updated!

It cuts out the bottom of p and q and g and y, as well.

Also you can't see the underscore in my name anymore, though I don't think that matters all too much.

You do a teeny tiny bit.... If you look real hard.

Is it just me or does it feel wrong to have older messages on the left and newer ones on the right?

Forums Updated!

I agree. Although, I would rather just have a page list.

Forums Updated!

I felt the same. I guess it makes sense but I'm just used to doing it the other way.

Forums Updated!

I like the forums this way - it makes it easy to see who is replying to who.

You can always click the "Non-threaded View" button in the top right corner if you want to view posts in order of when they were posted.

Forums Updated!

No, he means when browsing between forum pages. As in page 1 which lists all of the most recent threads, page 2 which is the next more recent, etc.

Forums Updated!

Ohh, I see what you mean. Yes, I noticed that too and agree. When browsing between forum pages, it feels weird to have the "Older Messages" link on the left and the "Newer Messages" link on the right.

Forums Updated!

I think the simple list of page numbers:

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8

Is the best system, honestly. Sometimes I'm looking for really old threads. I can probably just edit the URL though so it's not a huge deal.

Forums Updated!

Agreed! It also takes a bit more coding :-)

But I don't think the old forums had 'em, so I skipped it here.

Forums Updated!

I'm sure there are better things to spend time on.

Forums Updated!

I agree, it's not a big deal but it would save the hassle of editing the URL/going through pages one-by-one.

I can't spell check anymore.
