Łódź

I'm trying to write an edutainment game about the holocaust for the contest and the title is supposed to be "Life in Łódź" but for some reason the story editor won't let me put this down, saying there is already a story game with that title. I've tried simply putting down the word "Łódź" as well. Still nothing. I simply cannot publish that word at all. It will allow "Lódz" which is grammatically incorrect, and may cause confusion if I'm writing a story with Lódz in the title and Łódź in the story.

Any suggestions on what to do here? I've checked multiple times and there is no storygame with the word Łódź.

You can use this as the title:

Łódź

I have just tested it and it will display correctly as Łódź in the game. You can see it if you go to preview and then on to the rating screen.

It works! Thank you Fabrikant

It may be some glitch to do with the RTE. I got a string of numbers copying your title from the thread here over, but I created a game just fine using the altenate keys on my phone anyway. (And have deleted it now.)

Yes I am not using RTE. For me the encoded characters worked in the plain text field for the title. But copying the title from the thread caused the error in the OP (game exists).

Oh that's a funny coincidence, mine will likely also be about the holocaust, with a highscore and everything

The correct English spelling is Łódź.

It looks like Fabrikant gave a pretty helpful suggestion, and I don't actually know what one would do in this situation, but I just wanted to say that I think the idea of writing an edutainment epistolary story set in Łódź during the holocaust is a really good idea. I'm looking forward to seeing this story, I feel like the kids on the site would learn a lot from it, and I know that you'll stay true to the events that happened, and not sanitize history.
