Define art, is it just drawings and painting and the visual pictures aspect of art? Poetry can be considered art, as well as music and dance. So, what is art?

Hmm, good question. I think art is something meaningful a person creates, it can be a drawing, poem, dance, or even music. I personally prefer drawing over other things ;)

Here are some pixel drawings I created back in college!

 

First one looks awfully similar to this AI picture created a year ago.

I kinda thought that, but none of the others popped up on the image search, so I can give her the benefit of the doubt and say it was just a freak accident or based on that character. I don’t think she made her pfp though.

Within 10 seconds I found multiple instances of that particular pixel art of Senko, most of them dated 4-5 years old. Even found one with the exact same background used as a thumbnail for some 4 year old Terraria gameplay (Which was originally a 16:9 with some black bars on the side just like that weird stripe on the right of the pfp.

I said she didn’t make the pfp or the squid thing, so at least two original pieces.

Are you saying AI art isn't "art?"

You might be right to say they are similar, but there are 2 flaws. First, the ears of the girl AI created has 4 different other holes, different from my drawing. Secondly, it isn't hand drawn with pixels, hope this solves the confusion.

What do you mean by not "hand drawn with pixels?" Are you saying that you don't do the pixel art by hand yourself, or is this more so about the AI generated reference?

The reference was an AI-generated image I found online, but I hand-drew the pixel version from scratch. If you look closely, you’ll see the differences between the original (non-pixel) and mine.

The concern isn't that the two drawings are the same picture, the concern is that the pixel version is obviously traced from the AI image with some slight alterations. Saying that yours is hand-drawn from scratch is disingenuous.

This one is pretty basic but I still like it.

What software do you use to do you pixel art? Is there a reason you prefer pixel art to other styles? Can you do a non-pixel version of something you have already posted here, just for comparison and non-AI proof?
