Suggestions for improvements and additions to the site.
This feature was rejected 5/29/2014: Group PMs is a good idea. Private threads are not necessary. We want to encourage community, not division.

Okay, so when communicating with members, we have two options: the forums or to pm. The forums make everything you say publicly known. Private messaging only allows to talk to one person at once. What we need is some way to communicate with more than 2 people without having everyone know what we're talking about. The reason I say this is that I tried to do a 3 person project and I was having to talk to each person separately. I think it would be cool if we could create a thread and make it to where only certain people could see and comment on the conversation. This would make it easier to coordinate group efforts while preventing spoilers and troll interference.

Or we could do group messaging

^Above link and private threads would be far to 'exclusive' anyway. We are not looking to have a bunch of actual factions making threads only they can participate in and having the 'open' threads die out.

Well, I know what it CAN be used for. Then again, look at what the forums are used for sometimes. Plus, ideally, it would have a max of five people.

It'd be good to have my own private thread where I can test new coding...

Just say TEST THREAD on the title and do it there, if anybody replies just ask a Mod/Admin to delete the post so you can continue testing.

Let them know when your done though. So they can delete it.  Hmm... Can't you just use the Notepad in your 'My-Stuff' section to do code testing?

The mods may be too busy to just delete posts at someone's request. That's why we need this feature. It would reduce the work that mods have to do.

It's a good idea. Now if only they have the time to create the codes and implement it...

Was that sarcasm or were you actually agreeing with me?

Private threads

It was sarcasm and I was agreeing with you.

Private threads

Oh, okay. It will probably save them more time then they would spend otherwise.

Private threads

It definitely will.

But, the mods would still have to be able to delete the posts...or the person starting the thread could, but that privilege might get out of hand. Or make it so they would automatically close if someone has not replied since a certain time. Like, threads delete themselves after 48 hours of being dormant (or something).

I think the thread creator should be able to delete their own post, and I also agree with the 48 hour no reply deletion. That would delete troll threads if no one reply to them, automatically.

Good. Now, if only a moderator/admin would notice this...and you know...at least try to implement it.

I think only Berka has the actual knowledge to write codes for this...

Oh, Beeeerrrrrrka, come out and plaaaaaay.

Sorry for the random Serious Sam 2 reference. Well, seriously, off to bed now.

Private threads

It's only 9:55 where you are, isn't it? That's kinda early for off to bed.

Private threads

Nah, some threads that are legitimate are simply not replied to sometimes.

Private threads

That's why there is a 48 hour period.

Private threads

But sometimes they're just not replied to :P

You have your profile page :P

It gets crowded after a few text areas and combined with the normal stuff, and the code to have everything disappear when you click on it - the little profile text box on my edit-profile page is a bit tiny to pinpoint areas of code xD I guess the text box for a post isn't much bigger... but more is better than less in this case :P

Your profile Notepad then.

The notepad doesn't display anywhere, so HTML is useless coding there because I can't see the results.
