Who Wants a Picture Library?

This feature was originally accepted on Jul 24 2005 5:21PM, but was subsequently demoted to "New" in The Feature Wishing Well Clean-out.

The acceptance comments were Low priority.

Hey group ... a long while back, Chocobot drew up a small library of pictures for people to use in their games. Here's what he came up with.

Anyone interested? I can make a "Library" for everyone to use, but this is a fairly big feature upgrade to make. Let me know what you guys think.

it's a good idea, but don't kill yourself on it. people can upload themselves if they really want to.

No need to be mean to Choco. If you think you could do better ... by all means send them to me. When we do build the library (which I understand is not as important as a msgboard) they can be included.

Well, if you read closely I wrote:
That Chocobot draws like a three year old... with()25()year()old()mspaint()drawing()skills
So, technically, better than me. But I have been known to make a pretty good one, now and then.

i think this would be raised from low priority to atleast moderate priority now. with the concern being brought up of using pictures outside the site we need to know what we can do and cant do. a picture library would help eleviate concerns.

Well, it could easily be functioned by haveing a library picture slot and a user picture slot. When a person uploads they have a choice of putting it in there private area or the public picture library which would be a Public Domain.

Whenever a person wants to get a picture out of it they just ckeck it out and put a checkbox on each one they want. That would be the easiest way to do it.

How do I figure out the link to one of them? What is the link to any picture on the site? I mean, all those show the same thing; I see about 5 or 6 pictures that are excellent for my game.

I'm actually against this idea. I don't want to see the same pictures popping up in lots of different storygames. Google is our friend for picture hunting.

Yeah I don't see much of a point in it. If you want a picture you can easily find one online somewhere and use that. Would prefer this site not turn into a highschool powerpoint show full of clipart.
