Exactly. For example a ton of co-authors could be working on a "top secret" game. They don't want other people to know about it but PMing is to annoying.
It seems like a good idea. PM's can get slightly tedious and cluster up your inbox so an IM sort of thing could really help with forum games, messaging a coauthor, or even just having a conversation with a member.
