I'd like to see the forum have the ability to "quote" someone when replying. The newest posts would always go at the top (unless you wanted to add a newest/oldest button that sorted the posts). The reason for this is that if, currently, one responds to a post within a forum thread, it literally gets buried within the sometimes extremely long thread. It goes underneath whatever post one responded to.

This mechanism isn't very helpful because the person you "quoted" or responded to may likely never notice that response, and it is difficult to tell who one is responding to currently.

I second. It would be nice to bring the forum more in line with modern forums.

I'm really, REALLY against this. I understand why a lot of people don't like how the forums are displayed now, but I love it. When people do it right, it's pretty easy to tell who replied to who. Sure it gets jumbled when a thread starts getting really deep but... shit happens I guess.

Order of comments is just too for lack of a better word, "orderly" for me. I just feel like the current system is better.

I like our system now, but sometimes you want to address only a certain part of a person's post and for that a quote feature is quite handy. I'm for this.

I love the current system and wouldn't want to change it - it's easy to see who's replying to what. With that said, this feature would be handy if you only wanted to reference a different post to the one you're replying to.

I'm for it as long as we don't end up with people responding to posts they're not actually replying to and quoting someone else.

This forum set-up uses a quoting system, and I like it pretty well. There's a pretty big flaw in my opinion because it will also quote whatever the other person quoted as well, leading to each post being huge, but that's probably the easiest way to do it if you can just program it to copy and paste the actual post. It does help pinpoint what you're actually replying to though, I'd like this function to work.

Lots of forums don't allow pyramid quoting.
