[Forums] Like and Dislike FWW Requests

I got this idea from Betaband's post in the FWW and an earlier thing 3J held a few months back so Alex could see what members thought was a priority to be implemented.

What if we are able to like or dislike requests in the Feature Wishing Well? Say if I posted a request, it would go into a brand new "New" category. People could still comment why they like it or why they don't, but there's a button at the top with a "thumbs up" and a "thumbs down" icon.

Once a request in the "New" category got 5 votes, it would be moved into the new "Open" category. Threads with the highest thumbs up to thumbs down ratio would be ranked at the top (with the ones with more votes appearing first for ties) so Alex or anyone else who's interested could see what the community thinks would be a great idea compared to an idea that isn't wanted.

This idea was rejected when I suggested it three months ago. I'm still in full support of it.

Definitely, this is a good idea. (my thumb is up for this).

I don't think a +/- system is the way to go because most suggestions get +'s from me, but some are urgent and some would only be nice providing we could have everything we want. Instead, I'd want to see:

Red Plus / Blue Plus / Minus

Any user is only allowed to have five red plusses at any time and no user who doesn't have either a highly rated story or 200 posts can vote at all.

Red Plus: Wanted and prioritized
Blue Plus: Wanted but not prioritized
Minus: Unwanted

A user who is eligible to vote can give 0-5 red plusses, and as many blue plusses/minuses as they want, though obviously, they can only give one symbol to each suggestion.

Then, ideas would be sorted first by red plusses then by (blue plusses - minuses). New ideas temporarily get the top spots or have their own tabs.

When an idea is accepted or rejected, red plusses on it are returned to their owners so that they can spend them on other ideas. Additionally, one can remove a red plus at any time and place it elsewhere.

Great idea

I agree with this idea. It'd help differentiate the really important suggestions from the nice ones.

I like the variable level of priority JJJ suggests. I would definitely use something like that if it was available.
