How the hell do i scale down gifs to meet the crazy restrictive 100,000 byte max file size, without it looking absolutely terrible?

That is, 100 KB max (same thing; don't know why it's measured in bytes).

I need this, guys.

Also, it's surreal as fuck seeing the same gif playing at the same exact point twice on the same page. Now, thrice.

I have, but getting it under 100KB and keeping it looking even halfway decent hasn't gone very well, as you can see.

Hell, if the max file size was just 1MB, this wouldn't be a problem at all.

I  don't own a laptop or computer soo i haven't the slightlest clue about codeing...

Why not?

Because some of us are on our phones, and the bytes DO eventually add up. Not all of us have unlimited data plans and/or good free wifi.

No, you don't. The miniscule file size max makes you have to trim it down so much, it looks awful.

Even for people who don't have problems with the file size, gif avatars are annoying. For the sanity of the users of this site, everyone please stop.

Ask Brad about embedding a gif on your profile page in place of your avatar.
