Should I keep writting this game?

Hi. I'm making a game called Kirby cube invasion. It is where Kirby and dreamland get sucked into a portal into minecraft and he meets Steve. And you can choose if you want to play with Kirby or with Steve. I might have a sample ill post to this thread , or give a link or whatever. All I have right now is part of the introduction of Kirbys path. I will update Steves path after I publish probably. But should I keep making this or stop and start a different story instead?

Uh... huh. Alright, question: why do you think you should quit?

Uhh... What a strange question. If you're asking "is everybody on this site super excited about playing this game and think it's the best plot to a CYS game they've ever heard?" the answer is probably no. This doesn't sound like the plot to an epic game that will be praised as one of the best games on the site, it sounds like the plot to a game that will be about 30 pages long and have a rating of between 3 and 4 at best. Doesn't mean you should stop writing it.

People don't make games based on what other people want to read about, they make games because they enjoy it. If, for whatever reason, you're having loads of fun writing this story about Kirby in minecraft land, then knock yourself out. If you're bored of it already (which I'm guessing you are since you're asking people whether or not you should finish it) then scrap the idea and write something that's going to hold your interest for more than ten minutes.

The title of your thread is spelled wrong. You spelled it "writting" and it's "writing."

For misspelling the word writing. But I guess I didn't need too. Sorry for apologizing.

Just the way you're describing the game right now leads me to believe it won't be very good. Like what Briar said, the site isn't going to be waiting for it, so it's up to you to finish it. Also it doesn't sound too large of a game, so it should be easy to finish in a considerable amount of time. But yeah, it's totally up to you if you should. Since you know about it the most, you should be the one to decide.

ok. here it is so far. Note: This is only the intro for Kirby and he has not went to Minecraft yet. And also this has characters from the games, the anime, and a bunch that I made up. Hope you like it!

... Well this is a lot more detailed than I expected. Well done. ^_^

One tip though... You know how the blurb says, "This is my first game, so please be nice?" ... Yeah, get rid of that. People don't like that. A lot of writers use their blurb to say, "pwetty pwease say nice tings abot my game cos it my thirst gam and i only 12 and my parants gotten mordered yestday so say da gam is gud or i wil cry." Usually this means the game is crap and they put no effort into it, but for some reason they think the fact that it's their first game will get them sympathy and people will rate it higher than it deserves. Besides, you don't have to ask people to be nice if the game's good anyway. cheeky

... *sigh* I'm never going to hear the end of that. I only meant "if you're going to criticize," which plenty of folks have, "then I'd appreciate it if you were constructive, as opposed to being an ass about it, because I'm still figuring this shit out."
