Does anybody need or have hints & tips about old school games?
Yes.
yes to what? help or tips?
Affirmative.
I love you guys.
si.
(And Anubis loves you too.)
do you need hints?
There's a deeper meaning - a onmious force at work here. JJJ's post relays a strong vibe. A message... It tells me-- It tells me--
Hm, I can't quite grasp it. It's in the "would have employed a more suitable word" region, that's for sure. But, but, I don't know. Maybe if I... Hm
"would have employed a more suitable word"
Are you getting what he's saying, because I'm just getting more and more lost in the cryptic literature. Fuckin' lost.
actually I thought it would go to everyone. sry.
yes to what?
Yes to all.
And I do indeed requite thine love, my dearest Zero.
So do you have to go to a boot camp or something to be an ass like you. -_-
oooooohh....
Fight! Fight! Fight! - Winner is always JJJ, kid, just take it like a man.
Also, read some of his stories, he deserves it. Speaking of which, how's the book deal going?
rofl I love how quickly everyone assesses JJJ as the biggest douche in the world. And they're right. :D
Please, JJJ. Speak with precision.
Demonstar, what JJJ means to say is that he was shoving cock into your mother's mouth, and that it would be extremely difficult for anyone under this circumstance (especially your mother) to clearly ask him to relay that message to you. Why your mother was thinking of you while she shoveled dick with her tongue is a mystery to me, but I'm no one to judge your family relationships.
Now, I hope we can put all this haberdashery aside and get back to the real issue: Is anyone, or does anyone need to be made aware of the problems revolving British colonialism today?
I'm not an idiot but thanks anyway. -_-
Look. Sorry if you're a cock sucking, mother fucking, dumbass. And you don't know how to be nice.
What game?
Look this is stupid. let's just stop and start over I'm sick of having a insult war with you.
P.S. you didn't win the war.
Well now that the war is over, can I please have my copy?
Yeah! And fuck British colonialism!
Bah, the demonstar31 is a shitty console. I'll stick with my SNES. I mean, the DS31 only has one controller port, and no video! Pathetic, really.
Also, Link to the Past is awesome.
Oh, damn it. I said it was over. Can we drop it and get back to the subject?
Haha, I actually introduced my nephew to Link to the Past yesterday. He didn't get the graphics... I have no hope for our youth.
Also, there is no subject. Way too broad. Nothing you said made sense, you didn't catch it even after we collectively made you look like a douche, and even now you think that End actually had something more to say than "Yes." Ergo, shut up and take your ridicule like a man in the ass, as it most well suits you.
Look if no one going to talk about old school games. I say screw it. I give on this forum. Do what you want , I don't care.
Actually, he'll be known as "the Saturday night sex that was worse than Bob." Get some lessons, kid. :D
Anyway... Zero, you're right. I showed my cousins Fire Emblem on the GBA and they said it had bad graphics. I was like "WHAT THE FAWK YOU TAWKIN BOUT BO-EH THIS SHIT MAKES CRYSIS ITS BITCH EVERYTIME I BOOT THIS MOFO UP!" Ugh, I want a time machine so I can re-enjoy the epicness that older games had... Man I miss those days...
I've thought about this:
I'm going to raise my kids in some kind of shoebox, where they'll have no access to any kind of technology. As they grow up, I'll slowly start to introduce VHS taps, Cassette players (walkmen), and Tom & Jerry... not that Tom & Jerry Kids shit. Then I'll transition them into the NES, and show them what a DOS computer can do. Eventually, they'll learn what an N64 is, and marvel at the amazing 3D. They'll wake up early to watch Captain Planet in the moring, Mummies Alive! in the afternoon, and the real Pokemon at night, which only had like 150 of them. When they reach 30, I'll show them what the sky looks like.
lol Thats one of the best ideas I've seen. And zero, you forgot radio, and star wars (watch 4-5-6...1-2-3 all spaced with relative release dates.)
Go for it, just say its "agaisnt your religon." when the commies come. Ooooooo.... teach them to duck and cover whenever there's a flash, and shortly after show them camera's. So many nice things from back in the day, like music and disney - and America.
Haha, shit, I'm not that old. I'm giving them a crash course of my childhood, at least.
Word, Zero. That's what I'm doing. They will earn their enterence into the spoiled high-def world!!!
Spoiled, my arse. What I see is shitty FPS after shitty FPS released with a massive budget and no original ideas, rendered in the twin (trilinear filtered) colours of dirt-brown and another-shade-of-dirt-brown.
Where the Wii is considered the most fun console. The thing that brought us Wii Sports. And Wii Mario Kart. And all the other remakes with the shitty motion controller.
And the independent game creators - supposedly immune to this kind of madness - gave us Peggle. And Altitude. And that's just wrong.
Screw that. I'll stick with the golden age: 1985 - 2007
Oh, and two more words: Windows Vista.
Only because they have to give you a free upgrade to XP if you buy it :P
rofl Baboons. Anyone who can use baboons in normal speech wins a gold star. And none of them REAL gold stars, I mean one of them PAPER gold stars from Kindergarten. The VALUABLE ones.
@Rommy: By spoiled, I mean "Everybody needs ridiculously great graphix. Psha, funk that! I'll take Pong over Crysis anyday, biznatch.
I have to say that the original Fallout is pretty good. I have it by the way. Demonstar31 out.
Yeah, is something wrong with that?
Demonstar31, this is Anubis. Fallout pwns, and I'm going to get that special deal that has the first three Fallouts for just $20 via Steam, which will be a sexy deal. Can't wait to get those old gems along with Beyond Good and Evil and a few other games I never got around to playing. How copy, over?
I know a website where you can get the first fallout for free.
RAmen. That is all.
omg I love Ramen
"Idiots who tried it once and thought it was stupid because they are blind assholes who are influenced by some "techie" friend who is in turn a giant douchebag."
I'd be the douchebag techie friend. And i'd be right - Vista is just too inefficient to waste the cash on. It's more like a beta for windows 7, which is actually MORE efficient than XP, and therefore worth buying.
But your giving micro$oft more of your money! Don't do that!
Simply put: why upgrade from your current system to a LESS efficient system, paying hundreds of dollars, I might add, for nothing except a new start menu?
Why not just burn your money as a sacrifice to the software gods?
im absolutely loving my 7 now that i got my new computer. wouldnt say its miles above my xp that i had, but its still pretty cool. but i agree rommy, i wouldnt have gotten 7 had it not already been on the computer i got for christmas for the simple reason that i hate giving more of my money to macroscrew...microsoft.
nate
So, are all these complaints being made because you don't want people to upgrade to it? I personally don't know anyone who's opted to do that for any software (and paid for it). Vista isn't bad at all. I seriously don't know why people complain, and those who do always say the same thing.
It's slow. It freezes. It crashes. It's a Mac ripoff.
I can honestly say that my laptop, which I've had for a couple years now, is quite fast. It has never frozen. It did crash once, but I attribute that to my leaving it on for a couple weeks. And as for a Mac ripoff, I don't see how anyone can possibly make that connection. Apparently people do, but all I have to say is that if it's such a ripoff, then why are you all complaining about it? It doesn't make it any shittier, and Vista's still an upgrade from XP.
No, I'm complaining about it because it costs extortionate amounts of money and is less efficient than XP. I'm actually more irritated because it was basically the beta for the new kernel, which they used in windows 7.
Even though they've fixed the compatibility bugs now, I still don't see the point in paying money if it will make my computer the least bit slower for no gain. Basic game theory: you do not pick an option which leaves you worse off if you can just sit there.
That is, until games start using directX 10 only. Then I'll upgrade.
Okay, jeez, why are you so angry? I'm explaining why I'm not getting it - I see no reason to buy (IE pay money for) something that will slow down my computer, for no gain. 7 offers a benefit, vista does not.
And yes I am a rationalist. I prefer rational thought to just buying anything that's put on the shelves. (The term "rationalise" is something else entirely.)
Furthermore, I do not "make up" reasons - the benchmark tests speak for themselves. You still have not given me one reason why I should would pay out money for no improvement or worse, or given any examples of improvements i am supposedly not aware of.
If I had a choice between XP and Vista, I'd obviously choose Vista. It's just nicer and easier to use. Moreover, I'm sure you heard of Vista coming with computers, you know, stock. Truth is, my XP crashes and fucks up all the time, whereas my Vista does not. Vista is much easier to use, and nicer looking as well. It's like Firefox over Internet Explorer; clearly, Firefox is superior, just as Vista is superior to XP.
If you fear that it'll slow you down, then don't upgrade - simple. But I don't see who you could say that a stock XP is at all better than a stock Vista.
Also, about Vista being a beta for 7: That's false. Vista was (and is) the real deal, but like JJJ said, people like yourself were complaining about it's bulkiness. So, they just watered it down, and out came Diet Vista, or 7. And I'm not saying that that's bad either. I like 7, actually, but you can hardly say that Vista wasn't meant to last.
I'm not saying that is was intentional, but that's what vista came out as - it was the new kernel that did it - such an undertaking takes LOADS of debugging.
Good for you if vista is easier to use. I've had several of my old games (Battlezone, for example) fail to run even with compatibility settings. I think I'll need a 95 emulator eventually...
I also tend to build my own computers, so I usually pick the cheaper OS - windows XP.
Ahahahaha, NO.
I like my OS's to be capable of running binaries (exes), not just javascript and HTML, thanks.
Hisss. Anything that refuses to play my precious Battlezone is out of the question.
I beat MW2 on Veteran and got Pit Boss all in one day. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FUUUUUUUUUUUCK I'm sexy. lol Now I just need to finish up Spec Ops. Yeeah COCK!
Hm, ok, anyways.
I'm downloading Windows 7, like all good people who don't suck fat cigars should. My CPU's full of shit, my friend's CPU got stricken by a virus, which he claims wasn't acquired through a nasty porn site - lies - so he's going to format it. If 7 works on his computer, then I'm going to follow up.
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5182426/Microsoft_Windows_7_Ultimate_Retail(Final)_x86_and_x64
Looks like it's good.
Incidentally - CPUs only have like 2 MB of memory (the cache). They can't be hit by viruses because they don't contain any files and all the important data is stored on ROM chips. And you can't format ROM chips. Unless they're EEPROM chips.
Rommel - being a smartarse and geeking up your life since 1995.
Odd, then why give it the name "Central Processing Unit" if it doesn't do shit? Haha I always figured that the CPU was just another way of saying "the whole thing," or simply, computer. Good times.
In any case, yeah. I thought it'd be a pretty bad idea too, however, the comments don't lie (well, sometimes they do), and given the amount of praise and S/L #, I think it's pretty good. I've got one question though, if you guys can help me out:
If I boot my computer with 7 after I've copied all my Vista stuff (system backup), and shit goes down, will I be able to recover my computer and have it be Vista again? I mean, I backup my Vista laptop, install 7, and later go to system recovery or what have you, and reset my computer to a date before I had 7?
If so, then I don't think I have any reason to avoid this.
Hm, what do you mean the cache is huge? I've never even attempted this kind of thing - I've formatted a computer before, but never upgraded, so I'm not too sure of what I'm doing here. Do you mean, like, the computer itself won't handle it?
I don't know if it's relevant, but I'm planning to back up my computer on an external hard drive. If it messes up, or I just don't like it for whatever reason, I want to be able to restore my stuff directly from the external. I mean, if anything, I can just hook up one of my really old computers and try to boot one of those. haha
As for the updates, I know what you mean. That's really the only thing I'm worried about, but I don't update too often, and apparently, people are doing it with no problem, using the Hazar 7 Loader 1.6.1 or Daz's Windows 7 Loader 1.7.0 to activate it... but yeah, I figure they can still crack down on people regardless. In any case, the worst they can do it shut off my updates.
Oh, and I guess your "cache" comment was about the CPU deal, right? Haha, confused me there for a second.
Really? Hm, that does seem a bit over the top. Usually they just shut off the updates, sometimes make what you have stop working, and tell you to eat a dick (or to just buy the product). I figured that, given the hassle and shear number of people who do this, that the legal action thing would be fairly uncommon. Simply given the number of people seeding and leeching from this particular torrent, I'd estimate 1x in 10,000. "X" being however many people they choose to go after.
