I'm Kiel. :) For reading stories, the best place to start is generally the featured games (seen under the genre names on the storygame page) and the top rated games, but it's definitely worth it to hunt through the genres as a whole for the other gems. If there's something specific you wanna read, just ask, the members here are pretty happy to make recommendations.
Now, if you plan to make a game yourself, or be active in the community... the best place to start is the Help & Info section. The articles there explain everything about the site, scripting, dos and don'ts, exc. Good luck and happy reading.
