Although Homo Perfectus 7 is the most simplest one regarding gameplay, because there are no items, there is no Health or anything of the sort, the story is what I find to be what makes it my best work. I feel that:
A. The concept of someone fighting his own evil has always been very interesting to me. I felt I did this much better with Baryon than with Freakshow, because with Freakshow, it was purely biological, he was fighting against an evil he did not want, whereas with Baryon, it was psychological, what he was willingly doing was turning him into something he didn't want to be, which he then had to fight. I just feel this is much more relatable than with cases like Freakshow or Hulk or Wolfman, where the only time the guy is evil is when he is not himself but something else. When Baryon looks at what he was becoming, he doesn't have the luxury of saying to himself "but it was just by uncontrollable nature", because it wasn't, it was him in body, mind and spirit.
B. Another concept that is a favorite of mine is when someone has a rather controversial opinion. Anyone who has read Homo Perfectus 8 may have experienced a character who felt Satan was the perfect role model for all of humanity, and he had arguments for why he felt like that. The fact that a hero fights against the law in an attempt to fight injustice is another reason why I favor Homo Perfectus 7.
C. The main reason however is the ending. Now, the ending may not be that special to anyone who hasn't read Homo Perfectus 4-6 before reading 7, because it really is the conclusion of the journey Baryon has been going through since he was first "birthed" from his vat. In the ending, this god-like being, powerful enough to crash the moon into the surface of the planet, who has matured more than any character in any story I have ever made, after betraying the team, freeing a dangerous madman, trying to turn the human population into mutants and then spending years exacting vengeful and sadistic punishment to all those he decides deserve it, not only does this character face the unjust fate of his mother, or really, his normal life which was taken from him before he was born in the name of science, and is really the reason for his bitter attitude towards injustice, but also steps down to the mentor he rebelled against and says "I was wrong". Not only is this my favorite ending of my stories, I would dare say this is my favorite ending to any story I have ever read in the history of ever, but that is my opinion of course.
