A Question about Categories

Oddly, I am unable to entirely figure out which category an unpublished and incomplete storygame of mine should be placed into.  It technically should be put into science-fiction because time travel is a major part of the story; however, there is no actual science in the story.  In fact, the time traveling would seem more at home in the fantasy genre, but there is not a hint of magic, elves, swords, et al.  Fortunately, the story takes place in a school... about half of the time.  However, romance is a major part of the plot... for about half of the story lines.  Nevertheless, it takes place in modern times... without much adventure.

Should I just put it in "Everything Else"?  How do you personally categorize your own stories?

By the way, hi.  I am WouldntItBeNice (who choose an unnecessarily long username).  Also, feel free to read my published and critically panned storygame.

Worry about the writing first. Once you have a completed story, then you can go through and read it to determine what is the most appropriate category, as your end product will likely shift in form from what you have envisioned in your head and notes currently.

The writing is always the most important component of a story. Categories, pictures, etc. can all be dealt with at the end.

Flip a coin.

If the majority of the plot takes place in a modern setting, I'd go with modern.

I'd go with modern adventure, especially if the main character is from modern times.

Plus, as many stories as there are in that category, there's surprisingly few that are of really high quality.

My protagonist is from modern times, and the plot is also in the present day.  I suppose that I'll take yours and Ogre11's advice and put it in Modern Adventure.  Thank you
