I was searching through some old threads when I came upon Quiller's art giveaway. As an artist I was itching to draw so I'm thinking about starting something like that. A word of warning, though--my drawings might take a while to deliver since I need to ink, color, photograph, and download the artwork. I do all my work by hand and on paper so photo quality might be terrible. I'll need to set a few rules though, so make sure you read them. 

RULES

1. All my drawings will be either: manga, cartoon, or anime. I try really hard to draw these so it might even take a few days to complete. 

2. I will decide what art to give you. Just in case there's something to complex, hun. ^-^

3. All prompts will be randomly generated. 

4. POINTS SYSTEM. There will be a points system based on the quality and plot of the story. 

So, uh, I hope there's people interested and in that case, it will start Monday.

I'm mildly confused. Suppose Brad wins and wants to add another dragon to his stable. Does this mean he might have to suffice for an antelope instead?

Well, people can ask, and I may accept or decline and offer something else. 

If Brad wins and he wants another dragon, I could accept and draw it or decline and offer something else.

You're perfectly entitled to offer whatever you'd like. Your contest, your rules.

Keep in mind, you'll likely receive more entrants if folks are reasonably assured you'll produce something that'd be among their first few choices. For example, if there is a short list of things you had in mind that are difficult for you to draw/that you don't like to draw, you may want to consider posting that as an example versus the wide generality.

To be fair, I don't Quiller's thing was successful because people really wanted his art. People wanted to write, and the art was a bonus.

(I thought it was because he has fanboys and fangirls.)

I did it for the art.

Also, distraction from actually writing stuff is good.

I'm game. I just have a few clarifying questions. If I write, what exactly would I have to write? For example, would I have to write a set amount of pages? Or could it be a few paragraphs? How long will I have to complete? Sorry if I simply overlooked the answers to these questions. I tend to overlook things a lot.

1.) You would have to write as stated in the prompt. You can stray a little from it, but don't stray too far as to morph it into something completely different than as asked.

2.) No. It could be as long as you'd like, but the appropriate length for your supposed "story" will give you points.

3.) You will have the entire day to complete it. It's going to start in, like, two minutes, so you'll have until 8:20 PM to finish it.

For what it's worth, I would like to encourage the community to participate, at least at some point this week, in AYT's informal contest, if not for the art, then for the sake of writing itself.

A flash fiction story is a great way to get the brain pumping out new ideas and can help get the gears churning on projects that lie idly by, desperately awaiting your sweet return. Plus they're fun, and sometimes it seems as a community that we don't do near enough writing.

So consider this a call to CYStian arms. For Valhalla! For CYS! For Princess Bosom! For whatever your depraved little hearts desire!
