After bringing a metal box home and opening it up, you find a strange VR headset and a haptic feedback suit. When putting it on, you find yourself waking up in a strange house with untold mysteries and strange creatures lurking outside. What happened here? Why is the place abandoned? And how did you get here?

• This storygame is meant to be replayed multiple times as you explore this strange world you find yourself in. I highly encourage trying to get every ending in this game, and re-exploring certain paths after you get a new item or encounter a "glitch," as some places will change as the game gets more corrupted.

  • Epilogue has been replaced by the end.
    • Ending: Hiding from the world is now the only path you can take from "curl up in a ball and hide".
    • Ending: Life could be a dream (legacy) is no longer needed to trigger the end, due to it being a legacy ending

    • Fixed even more text walls!
    • Lengthened everything!
    • The world has been changed to account for the user being in the game, not just reading it.

Lol, I think my review of Legend of the Folklore Fish was more in-depth than this, but okay.

I might go back and redo it with more detail later. I didn't really have any major glaring gripes tbh, it was just a really "meh" story that probably went on slightly too long. It did get better over time, though, so that counterbalances the length, imho.

Edit: I also didn't have any major praise for it either, tbf. Looking back, I probably could have been more thorough and kinder to it, but what's done is done. I'm trying to do better with Death Song.

1. I know I listed the dictionary and thesaurus in that one reading thread, but I'm not that boring!
2. I actually quite enjoy nuanced systems and dislike it whenever it's a plain RPG. (i.e., I have the exact opposite opinion of whoever has this hot take.

The Riftwar Saga, with the Kingkiller Chronicle right behind it. It's one of the best series I've read so far!

I did listen to almost all of Dungeon Crawler Carl, but I stopped after a while. I'm not entirely certain why, tbh, but I've got plenty of other series I'm reading and listening to.
