After bringing a metal box home and opening it up, you find a strange VR headset and a haptic feedback suit. When putting it on, you find yourself waking up in a strange house with untold mysteries and strange creatures lurking outside. What happened here? Why is the place abandoned? And how did you get here?

• This storygame is meant to be replayed multiple times as you explore this strange world you find yourself in. I highly encourage trying to get every ending in this game, and re-exploring certain paths after you get a new item or encounter a "glitch," as some places will change as the game gets more corrupted.

  • Epilogue has been replaced by the end.
    • Ending: Hiding from the world is now the only path you can take from "curl up in a ball and hide".
    • Ending: Life could be a dream (legacy) is no longer needed to trigger the end, due to it being a legacy ending
  • Went over the entire thing and updated it.
    • Fixed even more text walls!
    • Lengthened everything!
    • The world has been changed to account for the user being in the game, not just reading it.

Just read Constellaris Court yesterday (amazing game, btw; Hats off to Mystic for making it), and boy does it have some good quotes. So, for the first time, I'm going to be quoting a storygame from this very website!

Side note, I'm glad to see others adding quotes to this, and thank you, bhp, for reviving this thread while I was away a few days ago. The italics should also be gone by now, so onto the quote!

I do, lol. I think that most people just don't know about them, or have forgotten they exist.

After playing through it, I personally don't think it's "AI slop." You have the basis of a good story, but the grammar and structure do need some polishing. The first (and currently only) game that I made on here was also accused of AI, but it got cleared up rather quickly. If you need any proofreaders, feel free to ask around; Lots of people have time to kill and are happy to do so. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product!

I haven't heard of that book; I'll try to read it sometime.

I actually read it on my own way earlier when I was homeschooled, lol. I remember how unreal it all sounded at the time; someone having to hide just because they practiced a certain religion. Sadly, it is now something that I can imagine rather easily.

She probably didn't. I did, though, and it was actually kinda interesting for some reason
