ERROR: NAME NOT FOUND

Rummaging through the bin you dug up, you find an old USB stick. Plugging it into your laptop, you find an odd, half-finished game. What mysteries does it hold? NOTES: Someone mentioned an ending taking away the notes option in the menu. I couldn't find what could have caused that, but I might have missed something. If anyone finds the (unintentional) bug again, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone were to find it again and leave a comment detailing what they did to get it. The locked door at the end of the hallway does not have a key yet. It is simply there in case I want to add something more there. UPDATE LOG: VERSION 1.1: Changed some of the pages to add to the lore. Updated some of the gibberish to something people can decipher. Added some "glitches" to certain parts.

It was a beautiful day when you received the package, the package that changed everything, the modified VR headset, the small, unassuming USB stick, the game your friend made. Even now, in your broken and scattered state, you can’t help but wonder how it could have gone differently. (This is a preview for a short story, not a CYOA)

Yeah, I think I will stop posting on the forums for a little bit. That last part was meant as a joke, but I can see how it could come across as whining. I will read those etiquette articles after this as well.

Agggh, I knew I had horrible timing with that AI question in my first post. It isn't made with AI, that's a completely unrelated story that uses the body horror stuff I was talking about in said post. Although I am interested as to why some people think it's AI.

First off: Wow. Did any of this even happen? I highly doubt it, as they all sound outlandish, and the internet isn't the most trustworthy place. Although, the world is a strange place sometimes. Also: Point taken. I am most likely just being paranoid. PS: This is a stupid thing to argue over, so feel free to ignore it, but I am sort of proud of what I thought up: The creatures that I made are not like what you are describing. They're more alien-like in their mutations, with one branch having tentacles sprouting from their bodies, and the other growing a sort of carapace with a cartin-like substance.

If you're thinking I'm asking what the story should be, then sorry for the confusion. I already have a rough plan laid out, and I am asking if anyone has an idea as to what format I should write it in.

I'm currently working on a prequel for "ERROR: NAME NOT FOUND" I'm wondering if I should have it be a short story, a CYOA game, or have the community choose what he does, and I update the story accordingly. With a short story, I could tell the story the way I want to, without having to think of any other ways it could happen. With a CYOA game, each person could have their own experience, but I'd have to think of how else it could have gone. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just don't have any ideas on how to do that right now. With the community choosing, I could guide it to what I have in mind, but there is the chance that almost nobody participates, and everyone will have the same experience. I'm thinking of just doing a short story, but I also like seeing a story change over time. What should I do for the prequel?

Not me, I love reading. I could probably read an entire book within a day or two if it's a really good one, but I usually read a book over the course of a week. However, I am starting to wonder if people are starting to not read books anymore. It also doesn't help that certain powerful figures in a certain country *cough america cough* seem to want people to stop thinking for themselves, and some books are meant to make people think about certain types of governments that America seems to be turning into. Regardless of what happens though, I will continue reading until the end of time!

Lol, yeah. I saw that thread not too long after posting this. Also, I am planning on doing some editing, and I did come up with the original idea for the story. However, I never really had a direction for the story, and just let the AI do its own thing with it. I guess in that case it can be considered to not truly be my idea. Thanks!

Thanks! I also usually don't use AI, as it has way too many issues, even now. However, I am still wanting to get used to writing prompts it can understand, as I feel that it is going to be used more and more in our daily lives. *sigh*
