Player Comments on Die Zombie! Die!

This was quite an entertaining story game, and it definitely wasn't that bad. The 3047-word long story game seemed pretty long as there were many pages. But, each page contained only a few sentences to a paragraph and it lacked quite a bit in a description. Anyway, let's get to the meat of my review.

Plot: The plot for this story game is something that you could definitely have improved on. You should remember the 3W's tactic. When Where and why, because in this story game you do not mention where the story takes place, ETC. You could've also added a bit of backstory.


Characters: There is virtually no text to do with the characters, you could've at LEAST told us some of the facts about the protagonist(s) such as their occupation, hobbies, and who they are as a person.

Setting: You did not include any setting whatsoever, you probably should've talked about where the story was meant to be and so on although it is not completely necessary.

Theme: I am a big fan of the zombie survival theme and I am happy that I found this. Your great sense of humour slots in very nicely with the story and I actually laughed while reading some of the pages.

Spelling/Grammar/Punctuation ETC: I surprisingly did not find much punctuation or spelling mistakes at all, as I was reading through, I don't remember finding anything that was wrong. So good job on that!

Conclusion: Overall this was quite a good story game to read and humorous and entertaining. Although it was short, it was definitely well written.

Oh boy, I would have liked this better back in 2005. I was 11. This would have been fun and I would have never noticed all the glaring mistakes and inadequacies. The fact that this was featured at one point goes to show how far the standard of quality has risen.

It did make me laugh. I thought the option on the first page was pretty funny. The author picked out pretty good pictures for the items, and some of the moments with the narrator throwing shade were successfully humorous.

It was not a good decision in my opinion to spend half the story talking directly to the reader. That time would have been better spent giving players freedom.

As the game is a part of a series, we might could anticipate and forgive that there is only one proper ending, but we could have at the very least been given a real option on how we got there.

The choices tend to send you through a specific path no matter what you choose and that through me off early on.

Good Story, keep up the work, but there was a lack of choices, i didnt really feel that i got to interact that much with the game

I love how you insult the player every time they die, you could add more hints for all the dumb players (totally not me) who don't know how to get the good ending. The police part is a bit confusing, how did they call for backup if they're dead?

Pretty funny game. This piece has already been dissected over a thousands times by now so that is all I will say.

It's funny but the plot is lacking and it's a bit linear.

My main problem with this is that there's not much here at all. It's more of just a puzzle than an actual storygame. Obviously with a 2/8 length you're not giving yourself much room, but you could put actual plot into this.

The writing is ok. There are a few errors throughout, but the English mostly holds up. So there's that at least.

The choices offered and actions by default performed by the protagonist are often absurd, which is something I don't like. If you're going for a silly story, then that's fine, but I don't think this was trying to be completely absurd.

And finally, my issue with the plot is that there really isn't one. You can make a puzzle game and still have an excellent plot, but maybe you were just going for a game. Anyway, it was not great, but it wasn't terrible.

There's so little description and a few errors and really weird stuff with the formatting where everything is in bold...

But I found this game amusing, surprisingly enough. It was very interactive, and I laughed a few times. Don't expect a serious, life changing literary masterpiece reading this... This is a humorous story that's still fun to play.

A reasonably good game. You could maybe learn about advanced editor, some things could definitely benefit from the extra coding options.

I have a serious problem with this common misconception about what is and what is not a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game. This is most definitely not a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game, this is a "Choose the Course of Logic the Writer of the Game Finds Most Acceptable Despite It's Absurdity" game (a.k.a. Bullshit). Why not reward the players for being creative in discovering that they could call the police to come to the house, have them become zombies, and then not be stopped by them when they escape the area in their car? And why the hell could I not just whack the police man in the head with the shovel and take his gun in ten seconds (if that) as opposed to taking the full minute to start the damn thing up and hack his arm off? It ticks me off that I can't find a decent "Choose Your Own Adventure" game with a decent story and choices available to the players that aren't limited an

It could have been better if a couple zombie snuck into the house, that way the character would have had a more epic fight and a use for some of the weapons beside the lawn mower and the police fight, also the shovel is actually more useful than a chainsaw because it's lighter and it could still be used to sever the heads of zombies.

It's pretty good. It's almost exactly what I would expect except it was much funnier. I won't be playing the sequels though, feel free to email me. Not that there's much need.

I haven't rated yet, but from what I gathered so far, your game is really well written. Your beginning started off nice and easy and I liked the part where Jason shouted in my face, wanting to eat my brains. That was well timed, as if I was watching a movie about myself and zombies.

This is a long game and I can't really finish it today. Also, since I haven't found the save game link yet, I will have to restart and play again, which will take a while as I collect all the data of good and bad in your game. However, the next comment you see will be my full thoughts on your game.

There wasn't much zombie fighting and I didn't come in contact with zombies. Make more zombie situations!

Hrm. One thing you might want to fix: when you get the hotwire manual it says the blue wire makes the car go. Later, the red wire does that. Massive discrepancy. Also, would have been more interesting to have zombies involved a little more. Still, I enjoyed this fast trip to my death. 613.

Truly, an excellent game. I've been waiting for a good zombie game on this site, and you have made a beautiful one. Very a la Night of the Living Dead. I will now go posthaste to play the sequel.

It's really smart and has a cool story line- and you can do stuff like killing and you cant see any blood-good coverup for annoying parents

Holy crap, this is incredibly good! The writing is very strong; it's also witty and descriptive. The game play is great as well, an excellent use of items, and just the right amount of interactivity. Way to go, I look forward to seeing Part 2!
