I just don't see why it matters if someone necros a thread. Or at least why it matters enough that we need a special rule or change to the site. I mean sure it's dumb but there are plenty of even more annoying things they could be doing with their time.

If people start having a discussion in an old thread then..well guess what, it's once again an active thread that people are interested in. Otherwise just scroll past it like you would any other thread you're not interested in. 

Okay I do like this one. If it wouldn't be too much of a hassle for Seth.

He's a busy guy, can't expect him to catch every necro. (Edit: Also, no, I was not the one who necro'd this thing--I just automatically assume all threads recently posted in are active. >_>)

Of course not. This was in my Notifications, so of course I replied to you. Why would I want to track your posts? I don't want to contradict you- at least, not always.

Hrmf. I was aware of the situation and it seemed like an easy solution so there was no reason to copy what had already been discussed in the thread.

Sure, it's simple to unwatch the thread, but wouldn't it push your buttons that someone replied to a post long abandoned? It most certainly pushes the buttons of mods and admins.

Not really (That is, my buttons being pushed), I would probably see what's going on and maybe even reply, if it bothered me then I would use the option I mentioned.

It really depends on your opinion of thread necroing. Not necroing a thread would keep a forum "clean," but if it doesn't bother you I suppose unwatching it is an option if you aren't against it.

As an occasional offender in thread necromancy I can't say it bothers me.

It bothers everyone else though.

Well, if you like a tidy forum, it certainly goes against what your hopes are.

Some people just enjoy getting upset about things.

It doesn't and it shouldn't, especially if the necro is a relevant one.

What about it in the case of someone doing to just be annoying?

It does not bother everyone. I'm not bothered by it.

Yes, I agree, I'm sick and tired of seeing threads necroed. I support this.

*realizes after first post that this was an already necro'd thread from four months ago* ... I'd like to believe this is a stupid joke, but I'm not totally sure. :P
