Lovecraftian inspirations - for Your own game on 6/5/2025 1:45:30 PM
Download: https://adeptus7.itch.io/lovecraftian-inspirations-from-real-life-and-beliefs
The free brochure is intended primarily for Game Masters who play games in RPG systems inspired by Lovecraft’s works, such as Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green. However, I hope that other fans of cosmic horror will also find something for themselves here. The interesting facts presented here may also be entertaining for people who do not know the work of The Loner of Providence, but some of the references may be unclear to them.
The article contains several anecdotes – either from real history or from beliefs that exist in the real world, and suggestions on how they can be related to the Cthulhu mythology.
You have my permit to use all those ideas as You wish, in Your scenario, game, book, podcast, video, without the need to reward or mention me in any way.
Below is the table of contents

"Dominion of Darkness" -story of the evil overlord on 4/19/2025 3:37:22 PM
Ok, in the meantime, I am still improving the game. Some of the things I added recently:
– extended endgame, especially for the Influence based characters – you conquered all kingdoms? Now secure your eternal rule by proving your divinity. Or, if you play as Destroyer of Live, carry out a world-scale euthanasia plan,
– new subplot – Rise of the Witchlands. Remember that fallen ancient civilization which ruins You could pillage? That is not dead which can eternal lie,
- extended economy - now You can destroy/help economy of the Free People in new and more meaningfull ways,
- extended Chosen One plot - now sometimes You can corrupt him.
Also - there is new review, in Choice Beat zine (page 30): https://www.flipsnack.com/choicebeat/choicebeat-issue-13/full-view.html

Yes, You are right, we are both Poles. Thanks for listening and feedback.
"Tale of the Necromancer" on 9/13/2023 2:56:56 AM
This is dark fantasy/horror story, stylized as an ancient oral legend, which tells the story of a simple man's journey and gradual descent into darkness - and ascension to power. We tried to give our villain
protagonist some psychological and philosophical deep, not just "HAHAHA I
am evil and will rule the world!".

I am an author of the text, other guy read it and recorded. We are very interested in Your feedback and discussion.

Thanks, I will take a look at Your stories.
Books you read in school on 9/12/2023 3:06:25 AM
I am from Poland, so my experience with school assigned books are very different than American one. Altough I can tell that I was reading all of them nicely, until I had to read Goethe's "Sorrows of young Werter". Hated every page of it and was not able to finish it. From this point I read only those compulsory books which I was interested in, in other case I was reading only summaries.
A Rant About The Chronicles of Narnia on 9/12/2023 3:03:11 AM
I think that Lewis storytelling is limited by his intention to make stories as much "Christian" as possible. Which means that heroes are so often powerless on themselves, there must be focus on how Aslan is only one who can solve anything.
EndMaster's short stories on 9/12/2023 2:58:15 AM
Interesting study of obsessions people can get. I myself very often feel compulsion to tear small "protruding": objects, so it was relatable.
What do you think about "death of the author"? on 9/12/2023 2:53:24 AM
I am not sure if I consider it good or bad, but I am sure it is inevitable, especially in long perspective.

"And now you got one responsive post on here at least, which is already one more than you got at IF Hub"
Heh, thanks ;)
"No feedback on the actual game since I haven't played it, but glad to see more people going full tilt on the dark overlord protagonist concept"
Didi You make such game too? Can You give a link, I would want to play it (if You are not afraid of stealing Your idead of course).
