Gig: Blast Damage Days
entry into the CYBERPUNK CONTEST 2021. You are Anton, A cybernetically enhanced Solo looking to make some quick Eddies slinging lead in a the futuristic neon blood drenched Night City, Where your life can be cut short in the blink of a eye. This story takes place in the Cyberpunk (role-playing game) universe mostly pulling from The rule/lore books and 2077. Fun Fact: The story's name and all the page titles are song names as a small nod to 2077's quest names. (This is my first formally written story since High School and I am totally rusty [A.K.A It's not that good] so *constructive* criticism is very very welcome!)

what are you listening to? on 6/15/2021 4:21:34 AM
In Vain of Mizal's "what are you watching?" forum I would like to know what music you all have been listening to. One of my current ear itches is Death Grips, The three piece experimental hip-hop group has had my heart with their boundary pushing sound. The album Ive been really digging on lately is The Powers That B, its my favorite project the have released due to the Vocalist MC Ride's lyrics during the B-side of this album (also known as Jenny Death) everything just hits so hard for me and stimulates my brain with all of its extremities that are somehow relatable. My favorite song on this album is On GP it is a very personal track for me because it details a lot of feelings i've felt and it sounds good doing it. As a musician (A Bass player in a punk band) the stuff thats been influencing my playing the most currently is Neutral Milk Hotel's Fuzz Bass That creates a wonderful blanket that fills the blank spaces wonderfully. I Bought a Fuzz pedal and Im still woking on getting the sound just right to get the NMH Fuzz Bass feeling (may need another pedal to get the rest of the sound sadly).

I've been watching Twin Peaks, it took me a couple of attempts to get into it but now i'm hooked! Its been a while since a show has pulled me in like this and I really cant get enough of this eccentric warm feeling everything in the show gives me. The Murder mystery in Twin Peaks is easily one of the best I've experienced with each revelation making questions that are more interesting than the initial "who done it?" mantra with characters feeling real unlike the cardboard cutouts some shows throw.

Oh no! I didn't know that sorry... Well for younger readers Id suggest the Maze Runner series and the limit for science fiction dystopia stuff ( I really liked these in the 5th grade through middle school).

Try A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick, I got my hands on it this past Christmas and it really scratched that itch for good Sci-Fi/Dystopian. A Scanner Darkly is simply about a highly addictive mind melting drug, undercover cops, bugs, a government conspiracy and a Household full of paranoid junkies... and if it didn't scratch your fancy yet they made a movie about it staring Keanu Reeves with rotoscope animation. Rapid fire round of popular Sci-Fi/Dystopian books that I like: Watchmen, 1984, V's for Vendetta, Slaughterhouse five, The walking dead graphic novel series (less popular) House of the scorpion and the limit

R.I.P Kentaro Miura (creator of Berserk) on 5/20/2021 3:30:07 AM
Wanted to share the sad news. "[Report of the death of Professor Kentaro Miura] Dr. Kentaro Miura, the author of "Berserk", passed away on May 6, 2021 due to acute aortic dissection. We would like to express our utmost respect and gratitude to Dr. Miura's painting work and pray for his soul. May 20, 2021 Hakusensha Co., Ltd. Young Animal Editorial Department" Saw this on Twitter and It broke my heart. Kentaro Miura was a hero of mine who inspired alot of my art and writing and I don't think i'd be the same person if I hadn't experienced his work In Berserk. As someone who suffers from depression and *had* thoughts of suicide the message in Berserk of keep struggling for the good things in life and for others really changed my whole world view and I'd say its something that saved my life. His death hits hard and I don't think ill really ever get over it.

What was the best book you had to read at school? on 4/26/2021 12:34:23 AM
In Middle School I was assigned/recommended The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer by my language arts teacher for a independent book report, A story of a Opium kingpin vampire drug lord and his clone within a fictional country between the U.S and Mexico, for me at that age it was a intense and gritty story that definitely had a hand in creating my love for darker science fiction in my future along with its sequel. As a senior in high school in my honors Brit. Lit. class I was Assigned 1984 (a book I had already read). I enjoy 1984 but it holds more sentimental value to me as one of the parting gifts from my great aunt. When My aunt passed away she gave me three books 1984, Animal Farm and The complete Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Im not sure if this counts as being assigned but in my independent reading class I had the opportunity to read A Clockwork Orange and write a report about it. In A Clockwork Orange you are firmly greeted by Nadsat my favorite part of this dark story. Nadsat is the Slang and language used through out the entirety of the novel and it made it so fun to break down and figure out what was being said on the page.
