This feature was rejected 5/29/2014: Too simplistic. I could create a storygame with only one page that used scripting to change the text and links constantly.

So, I propose that we enforce the publishing system in a way that only stories that are over a certain length in words and links can be publish. To dissuade trolls, and people who don't want to put in the efforts in creating their stories.

What do you guys think?

Anything that's 1-2 pages long cannot be published. Yay!

more like 10 - 15 pages...

No. Some guy made a beautiful little tiny story that was rated 7/8 at one point about grief. Despite it being only four pages, everyone loved the hell out of it.

I think it is by world length: I remember not being able to publish something 5 pages longs

Nah, doesn't really work. You can make pages without any links for them.

That's why I said we should make the restrictions in words length, not page length.

That way, the length of your story is determine by how many words you have.

To dissuade trolls from just copying and pasting words from other documents, I'd also proposed the link restriction. So a game without enough links cannot be publish. That should dissuade some trolls as they might think it's too troublesome to go through all that effort of copying and pasting, and then creating dozens of links for no reasons before they can post the story.

But what about short stories that are actually pretty decent?

We must decide whether the pros of actual good short stories overweight the cons of troll short stories. Then we must look at the amount of actual good short stories and compare them to the amount of troll short stories, and make our decision base off that.

Hmm...

Ignore the fact that we can easily remove bad stories and set up something to block any potential good short stories or just let them all in and remove said bad stories when they pop up?

...

Wow, that's a hard one nmelssx. >.>

... I hate to break it to you, but regardless of whatever rule of length / amount you put up, it will not dissuade most trolls, especially the really bad ones. The REALLY bad ones will only see it as a challenge to overcome and motivate them. They will just make their very text long enough or page filled until it meets those requirements and you'd be keeping out some genuinely talented writers or forcing them to adjust.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but "nothing is fool-proof for a sufficiently talented fool."

It would be cool if they could set the system up to where games under a certain length are flagged for review by a moderator before they can be published.

Did you read the thread before posting? Besides, Admins and Mods are not always on. They have lives too.
