I know, I know, but have you ever seen one GOOD pokemon story game on this site. I know this is a long shot idea. However, it is one of the major reasons why we have a site flooded with bad games. This is a rule that I would not be surprised to be rejected because of difficulty. However, before rejection, I want you to think about all those times you click the random button on a storygame. Just to find a crappy pokemon storygame .

We don't get enough Pokemon stories for them to be considered nuisances. I think we should only ban entire genres in very specific situations. I support the WC ban because we were absolutely flooded with WC Storygames and that only drew more to the site. We're not particularly filled with Pokemon games or annoyed by its fans. I agree that the Pokemon Category tends to be much worse, but not enough to destroy an entire genre.

My point is, that this is another hole for bad writers to come in. As we can see from MOST new users who make storygames. Even though this isnt really new, we can see that these storygames are constantly poor in quality.

Edit: But high in quantity.

Yes, I understand that for the most part, Pokemon's shitty, but I doubt think that's enough justification to ban it. Fanfiction tends to be a much shittier category, that doens't mean we should ban it. Except in vary extreme cases, we shouldn't ban entire genres.

I feel like that is a different situation. When talking about genres like fan-fiction, that is something you cannot ban. This is because there is so much potential that can come from it. However, I am talking about a type of storygame that lacks potential constantly. 

I think banning Pokemon would not only severely limit people's creativity in an unnecessary way and set a standard for banning that I don't think would help the site. Just as you can point out shitty Pokemon stories, most Fanfiction's shit. But, there's potential for both to be good.

I disagree, there are way to few (bad) Pokemon games on this site to warrant a ban, especially if you compare it to the WC numbers we used to have. As a matter of fact, either I'm overlooking them, or there isn't even a pokemon game in the new stories list.

A complete ban of any given genre is, in my opinion, the nuclear, only use if nothing else works option, and not something to instate just because there are a few bad stories out there.

... That's ... honestly kind of almost worse. We're not here to dictate what plots people can use, the standards are only meant to promote decent quality. Don't like the couple? That's your problem. They could write about Barney banging Ms. Frizz from The Magic School Bus for all I care, just as long as there's a plot, good grammar and spelling, there are actual choices, it's not x-rated, and it's appropriately labeled.

And thats when I was inspired to make a kickass game.

In that case, I keep the same arguments that I presented before, and add that you're now basically advocating banning most fanfic. Again, not a warranted ban as there's not really a flood of bad fanfics that severely decreases the quality of the site.

WC got the ban due to the combination of poor quality storygames / the General freeform RP ban / the fan base.

I don't want this site to turn into something where we ban things of lower quality left and right. I've never had a problem of running into Pokemon storygames. There aren't nearly enough to justify a ban. In fact, I didn't even know that the whole Pokemon game was a genre within itself on this site. I haven't seen one for about a month.
