A place to sit back, hang out, and make monkey noises about anything you'd like.

Fourth of July

Fourth of July is here. I'm probably gonna do nothing, maybe set off a few fireworks. Don't wanna scare the shit out of my pets so they'll probably be small ones :P

Might also hide in my closet after watching a horror movie

I'm curious, what are you CYStians doing for the Fourth of July?

Ah, the annual Fourth of July thread. Someone edit the background like last year.

Nothing much. Sitting at home and respecting our country.

Happy Independence Day, y'all!

E: Haha I'm a broken record.

Hung out at my cousin's a little earlier while they were getting set up for things, but at home now and planning to stay home and do a little writing tonight.

There's always various people doing barbecues I could crash, but gotta be in bed for work almost before the sun goes down this time of year anyway so not much point.

I have an uncle who runs a firework stand every year and is always ready to hook everyone up, so, the novelty of blowing shit up wore off pretty early in life for me anyway.

Reading about Fred Hampton, the guy who was murdered by the U.S. government on orders given by J. Edgar Hoover, as part of the COINTELPRO program, for advocating against police brutality and his political activism.

Me and my brother are going to be doing illegal fireworks later on.

That's about it.

Literally did nothing today but jack off and post in the 'we need to talk about Chris' thread. Didn't even change my profile pic to my picture of Captain America punching Hitler to be patriotic (EDIT: Oh wait. I did).

.Happy Treason Day, everyone.

Speaking of treason, I noticed Google threw in its lot with the gayer, more boring America and had a Canada Day logo instead of a 4th of July one. Canada Day is on the 1st FFS, what even was that.

Never forget. Never forgive

E: how does this thread have a background? I thought JJJ changed things so that kind of thing wouldn't work...

150th > America's shitty holiday. Also, 150th > Indians on Parliament Hill

Fourth of July

You guys made the mistake of coddling the Indians, and thus are the ones having to put up with their bullshit 150 years later. LOL

So an hour after I posted this, some dumbass burnt his house down with a roman candle in my city.

Gotta love Independence Day.

It's really only funny if he lit it inside the house.

Fourth of July

I wish I could pretend that isn't what happened.

But really, stupid bastard lit it on fire from the outside. Nearly spread to the other houses, but thankfully the firefighters got there before it did too much damage.

I slept over at an uncle's place and I learned that I'm really terrible at croquet. Mostly, I bubble-battled my four year old niece who is in love with Moana and wants to save the heart of te fiti at all costs. I'm not really a fan of big flashy fireworks, and I got all depressed thinking about pollution and those ciggie homeless people two feet away from us, but I managed to get my hands on some strawberry tart, so it ended up pretty alright.

So we're all pretty pathetic and for the most part incapable of simple things like socializing and simply having a good time on a major holiday, huh. That's my takeaway here.

No point in breaking tradition...

I'm taking the first real vacation I had in 3 years with some old family friends of mine in Gatlinburg, TN. I am, in fact, socialising more than their oldest daughter (one of my best friends) who won't stop texting some dude named Sam and a girl. I haven't seen her in two years, so this's making me sad. :(

I just kind of worked all day. I work at an amusement/water park and all I can say is: you'd be amazed at the amount of people who wore American flag clothes or swimsuits. The most interesting thing I saw all day was by far, an American flag burkini.

I ate a hamburger and watched old Columbo episodes all day.

(On a less exciting note, a bird flew up to my window and told me a secret.)

I hate fourth of july all my friend allways go to partys and this time Nancy (the nerd) went skinny dipping with her bf and we walked in on them, and some one started a fight, broke the tv, (thankfully it wasnt at my house!), But then again they were all drunk so....

In this order, I watched some Jackie Chan movies in preparation to watch the new one he made, set off my own firework at a bonfire at my house, roasted chicken, brats, and marshmellows, watched three different fireworks displays happening, two at other farms by guys with licenses and shit, and one "official" one a few miles away in town.

We're a week path the 4th now and assholes are still working through leftover fireworks.

I wouldn't mind except last week I at least KNEW the nights the dog needed to be brought inside. I'm in bed at 8:30-9:00 usually and now having to get up an hour or two later because the gentle distant popping has her frantically hurling herself against the door.

I have a big box full of cool shit my uncle gave me while I was helping him load up his trailer but, not much chance I'll get around to using them, so I need to decide which family has the least obnoxious kids I don't mind being Santa in July for.

Or else which family has a house I'd most like to see burned down...

Okay.

'a week past 4th of July WEEKEND, the period starting the Friday before the 4th when people traditionally start purchasing and setting off fireworks'

Never let it be said I'm to impatient to set special time aside to slowly and carefully spell things out for pedants.

Spent my fourth of July in a foreign country whilst paying no regard to your country's independence. Didn't even remember it was the USA's independence day until now, at which point I felt a general moment of hateful disdain and decided to post. Specifically to the date, it was my brother's birthday, so I sent him a picture of a boat he wants to get sailing near the beach and told him he was creeping closer to death and his dreams would go unfufilled.
