For teachers and stuff

When someone goes to publish a story, let's just dedicate a sentence or two to have the site inform them about Sneak Peek and how you can share your stuff with others even while unpublished as long as they have the link.

Personally I like to just inform people they can share their stuff with others even while unpublished as long as they have the link, over and over until the words cease to have meaning.

I would like to state that despite being a longtime member, I did not realize this. I agree with Sherb's idea.

I'm sure you realized that if the title and description are visible in the profile than the game is accessible. That's all Sneak Peek is and games are in it by default unless you uncheck the box.

To clarify: I knew about sneak peek, but not about unpublished games being viewable through the link. I also didn't know about sneak peek until RK notified me earlier this year.

You did say you have to explain it to people a lot. Having a notice pop up during the creation of a new story game would spare you the trouble.

Well yeah, explaining to noobs doing school projects or private stories for their D&D group. I did figure most regular users had been nosy enough at some point to click on a noob game through their Exp page or something though. The extension actually just turns them into clickable links in the profile as well.

Anyway, the following is shown pretty prominently when creating a game already, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to edit it to be clearer:
When this box is checked, this storygame will be visible from your profile page, and users may be able to view the contents of the story before it's published. If unchecked, only the author(s) may view it and it will not be shown in your profile.

Eleven years on this site, and I never read that.

It's starting to occur to me that the issue may not be labeling, but noobs being inattentive.

You hadn't read it? Even if you didn't read it when you were new, shouldn't you have at least taken a moment to check the options in your profile? Your profile is more than just the description that people seem to ignore.

Avo, you realize you've reached almost 900 posts in one month

Unrelated to the subject, but just wow. That's almost 30 posts a day!

I did? I think it's just me showing drawings, being chatty, and asking for help.
