Hi, I originally was from the Scholastic 39 Clues forums. There were a lot of great stories on there.  Although now I've grown too old for the website and most members have become taciturn. I just decided to join to read and save stories but I have a slew of ideas for writing. I just don't think anyone is on this site. It seems very outdated.

No, My bad. I just don't know the format of the system that well. My bad. What do you mean by the timing? (My username is the same as my FFB username.)

Don't mind me, I've gone completely insane.

Loving the straight faced use of 'taciturn' in a forum, and the signing off at the end. It's got the feel of grandpa getting his hands on the MacBook again. 

Haha, I don't know the style of this forum. I wasn't expecting it to be emo gamer like. 

Yeah that's us, just a bunch of emo gamers, when there's anyone here at all which let me tell you is pretty rare on this outdated site.

I just got off emo-gaming myself. I often come to this site from my emo-gaming to enjoy the vintage space it provides.

We're not offended, we just think you're kind of dumb. Most noobs are, don't worry. It's possible to grow out of it.

Mizal, try to be more welcoming. I've noticed that your behavior towards people isn't exactly kind, so I'm politely asking you to try to be more considerate and friendly towards people.

Mizal's just being a bit rude. I know that she's a kind person somewhere inside her soul, and I just wish that she wouldn't accuse everyone of being an idiot, pedo, noob etc. :/

She should be a bit more welcoming towards people even though they can be emo gamers.

And where would you get the impression I'm a nice person? Or that 'we' do things on the site a certain way? You're a noob who's made a random thread asking for music and nothing else, there is no 'we' here.

That's very subjective but think what you like. Would it be polite to suggest your weird? No, and I don't think you are but what you said was uncalled for.  You guys critiqued me no matter what I did, when I showed a high vocabulary you called me old grandpa like and now you're calling me dumb and a noob.  I didn't know what to think on this website when I got on here. My bad for my comments.  Mizal you seem like a good writer and I didn't mean to disrespect you or the others on this site. The damage is done and I understand that. Bye.

There is no 'damage' that has been done, you and your Harry Potter RPs have been a brief source of entertainment for us and that's about it. You are perfectly capable of going on and participating in the site like any other actually contributing user if you so choose.

And, in case you're wondering, the cure for being a dumb noob is to stop acting like a dumb noob. It's really quite simple. The amazing thing about that is that then one or two people might actually care if you start making noises about leaving.. (Well, probably not in the case of a thirteen year old who hasn't bothered earning a point...but I make these educational posts for everyone's benefit you see. Future noobs might find it useful.)

Okay, how's this. If you can solve Berka's puzzle before the deadline I will officially declare you no longer a noob, as you will have proved yourself 'an einstein' greater than many regulars here.

I feel this is a VERY generous offer, and it will also help to start solving your point problem which you're apparently not interested in tackling in any other manner.

(Minor additional challenge is demonstrating enough awareness of surroundings to locate the thread containing said puzzle.)

As for Mizal, I’d say her initial response to Tzz, was pretty justified given that his first post was to come here and say the site was outdated and that nobody ever comes here.

The outdated comment was like going to a settlement that was made up of sheet metal, wooden boards and ruined homes because that’s all the rough but fair community could find in the wasteland.

And while it doesn’t look like much, it’s perfectly serviceable and acts as a safe haven against raiders.

Meanwhile some asshole comes in seeking refuge from some other community because they kicked him out for being too old and the first thing they do is go on about how the place sucks and how it’s not as nice as one of those fancy shelters where they probably have an experiment going on to brainwash people into thinking the same way.

This person didn't even come in through the fucking front gate either, they climbed over the wall and wondered why one of the settlement's warriors had a gun pointed at him.

THEN the person proceeds to annoy the community by reciting shitty poetry and singing loudly in the town square, actually believing they’re doing something useful until one of the settlement elders takes their tambourine away and tells them to shut the hell up because they’re not doing anything useful and they’re doing too much of it.

THEN to top it off they proceed to insult the entire community which is gracious enough not to immediately throw him out to get raped and eaten by raiders.

Given all that, it makes perfect sense that one of the community’s warriors is going to finally go off on this interloper who hasn’t done anything except be obnoxious.

And as for the second part of nobody coming here, that’s pretty much been dispelled given that we’ve had an influx of noobs showing up this month generally being annoying and wasn’t even true to begin with.

All true and would be entertaining turned into a story, except, 'We're not offended, we just think you're kind of dumb. Most noobs are, don't worry. It's possible to grow out of it. ' was more just me stating a fact to clear up what seemed to be genuine confusion, while also offering kind encouragement.

If I go off on a noob, they'll know.

Write whatever you want, just make sure it doesn't suck.

End, I do agree with your point, but in general Mizal has been acting rude to our new members on here.

I guess after a few years they all seem the same to some people.

Well that, and so much of the time they don't 'seem the same ' but literally are the same, over and over again.

But it's pretty easy by now to identify the ones who aren't ever going to contribute anything worthwhile, and whether it's deliberate or because they simply lack the capacity the result is the same so fuck 'em either way.

Dini meanwhile is being astonishingly naive here but I'll leave it to someone else to explain how websites work. (That or she can wait for the next CYS election to roll around I guess and finally make her voice heard...)

There are a few factors involved in weighing the worth of a new poster, but the first and most important one is a matter of their cognitive skills. Things like reading comprehension, understanding nuance or picking things up from context, or simply playing spot the differences with the their own writing or behavior versus everyone else's.

The struggles might stem from being very young and/or very autistic, or they may just be kind of dumb or broken in some other way, but for whatever reason there's this failure of the basic human ability to go 'when in Rome' and adapt to or even identify a new situation. It's a kind of tunnel vision I guess but whatever, what matters is they there are certain things necessary to survival here that they just don't get and never will. (Only exception being if they're really young, in which case they might eventually get better /IF/ they don't burn all bridges before then by refusing to accept they can be wrong, or otherwise have a meltdown.)

tl;dr The force that drives Warrior Cats to post bad things and not recognize that they're bad is the same one that makes a noob dump printouts of his Harry Potter RPs onto our table while we're in the middle of lunch and then not understand why that's funny.

The weird persecution complex and inability to get over themselves both develop after is a matter for another duscussion.
