Hi! im wondering what are commendations and how do I get them?

What does the warden order do and I have 0 commendations HOW.

You get commendations by getting commended by mods. The warden order is just the group you were randomly assigned to, it affects nothing unless you count the unique title.

I'm amazed that every word in the title is spelled correctly btw, how did you pull that off? This is a definite improvement as the most coherent message you've ever written here, good job.

Im good at grammar I guess, but what did it mean when your comments can get commended.

It says that the comments you put in or games you make it says that they can get commended.

If you want to see how it works in practice, you can click on any user name and then click on the number under Commendations on the right to see where they've earned their commendations. The list should also have links showing what got commended. You can use those as examples of stuff that is worthy of being commended.

Are you a admin? If not then how did you get commended by saying stuff about yourself or what?

You can look up "commend" or "commendation" in a dictionary for one thing. But a commendation shows up as the red text on a forum post or game, or it puts the gold star next to a game review. It's basically a gold star sticker from an admin or one of the more advanced community contributors on especially high quality writing. (Though it's a little more informal on the forum and can sometimes just mean we really like a post.)

The rules of the contest are that you should read, rate and review all those stories. Since you've read them all, the latter two shouldn't be too hard for you. Only then can you win.

Each game you rate gives you a point. Getting your work featured/commended also increase your point totals. So does writing a story but I don't think we're quite at that level yet.

No worries.  You have always been a retard but I'm glad you are gaining self awareness.

It's latter, later is afterward and latter is the second of a pair (not a perfect description of latter but the first explanation that popped into my head).

I know the basics and all but how do you get MORE points besides duels?

Reading and rating a game gets a point, leaving a good enough review for a commendation gives more points. Participating in certain forum activities and events can give more.

(And just in case you're getting any idea of rating a bunch of games without reading them, we can usually tell when people are doing that and can just take all the points back.)

You are really concerned about the wrong things.  Right now, you seem like an annoying retard that is trying to find a fast track to relevance.  It's not going to work that way.  What you should be concerned about is being a valuable and contributing site member first, then other things will come naturally. 

First, you stop acting like an idiot in the forums. 

Then you concenterate on reading, rating and commenting on other storygames.  Nice thoughtful comments like you actually can read and pay attention.

Next, you dont flake out on the prompt contest you are entered in.  Write a decent story with branching.

This should be your focus.  Personally, I'm hoping you do something stupid and get banned again because its funny.  But perhaps you will surprise me.

Yes, what DB said exactly. You're not going to get anywhere obsessing on points and comms for their own sake. Those are a fun side thing, but the people who really excel and become a core part of the community are here because they love reading and writing and the possibilities of interactive fiction and discussing those things with others.

A big mistake school aged kids make is treating this place like a chat room and making threads all over the place without much to say. The forum isn't here to provide 24 hour entertainment, anything to do with writing takes time and thought and nobody likes seeing a bunch of litter everywhere. Just go to flightrising.com or something for all your mindless ADHD needs and use this site when you're able to set some time aside to focus.

I love reading and writing I wrote a book IRL so yeah I know how to read and write and I was just asking because I'm new here and I saw them and was wondering. Yes I do have ADHD and that doesn't make me worse. If anything it makes me better because of the ability to extend my ability to focus, and my first game (which is gone now) was just to see how the game function worked and now I know and I will start improving my skills to the best I can, so now you know everyone.

Well it is set for 2025 but I changed it to be for 2045 because the great grandfather was in 1990 and he made a special serum that can give anyone with his genetics superpowers!
