Considering that so many newbs make posts introducing themselves and then disappear, do noobs who do stay on and continue to have alive accounts get cool street cred, because we rose above the rest and still continue to fight? Or are we just losing street cred the longer we're on because we're posting cringe? And at what point do noobs cease being noobs because they finally understood the site culture and have now assimilated into being productive members of CYStia? Is it when you post your first story game? Is it when you change the default profile pic? Is it when you offer writing advice? Or is it when site members see your posts and have a cohesive mental idea of you, from your style and the way you write? Does that finally make you legit? It's an interesting philosophical quandary and I don't think I've made it to that level.

I'm just making this it's own thread actually, it could be informative AND fun! ^_^

You just find a picture you like on the internet or somewhere(you could draw it on your own, some members did that and they did a great job) then you go to my stuff on the sidebar. You upload it to Pictures and then you go to the profile tab. You click on Avatar Photo, there's a dropdown menu that lists all the pictures in "my pictures", and you can set your avatar pic from there

yeah, kudos to whoever designed the default penguin avatar, it is adorable! But why is the penguin holding the book and looking confused? That's my only gripe with it

Oh ok, I get the placement of the question mark, then that makes it even better! We're still confused newbs trying to figure out how to present ourselves via pfp so the penguin is confused. I've seen MHD's artwork, it's really good

I have a list of standards, and I judge everyone who doesn't meet them hashly and daily.

I've not really been here that long and im definitely not an experienced member either, but as far as i can tell its not exactly binary in any manner, id say its a mix of all of the above. You could be an active member for 10 years but if you did literally nothing in those 10 years some here would probably still see you as a "noob" lol, basically its multi-conditional, in my eyes though i consider basically anyone who isn't a mod a noob, since most of the active members here are actually mods which was really surprising to me at first. The fastest way to modhood though or just being appreciated here would just be to write a good story thats well regarded.

I don't think I was ever considered a noob because I published a game before I started using the forums and when I started using the forums, people's reaction was generally, "Oh, hey, you're the one who wrote that riddle game. I liked that riddle game... You aight noob girl." ^_^

I think when Endmaster and other older site members know your name for about a year or so. 

Edit: oh yeah, and if you have done something productive too. AI doesn't count.
